Abit BD7-RAID Review

Conclusion

The BD7-RAID doesn’t offer a breath-taking performance advantage over an Intel branded board, but it in the age where most boards are designed without much performance difference, it comes to the features.

The BD7-RAID, while not containing many desirable features such as USB2.0, 5.1 Audio, or Firewire, it does sport extreme tweak ability settings that will appear desirable to most enthusiasts and overclockers.

Coupled with Abit’s patented Soft Menu III technology, the BD7-RAID shouldn’t be overlooked if you’re looking for a pure tweakable board that will overclock your shiny new P4 1.6A or 1.8A to the max. With the fixed PCI and AGP bus settings, the BD7-RAID appears to be extremely attractive to those looking for an all around performance oriented board.

The Abit Engineered features are very nice as well for those who typically run into system problems and have a hard time finding out what the problem is. The LED readout on the board makes it faster and efficient compared to exchanging random components.

In the End, Abit has an extremely solid board that is definitely aimed at the hardware enthusiasts or tweaker inside.
