Intended as an informational supplement to some of the other political / bailout related threads, I thought I'd post a graphic that was forwarded to me by a friend. Here's what a trillion dollars looks like in $100 bills:

    In order:
    100 bucks
    10,000 bucks
    1 million bucks
    100 million bucks
    1 billion bucks
    1 trillion bucks

When the government spends it, that's not what it looks like.

The money doesn't even exist! It's imaginary! :D

I can't imagine having sex on that much money would be very comfortable. At least not stacked up like it is.

If you changed the denomination from $100's to $1's and went backwards, that would be a good representation of a lot of people's retirement accounts over the last 10 yrs.

Man, I'd be robbing the shit out of that drug money. You know the police pocketed at least some of that. I wouldn't blame them.

way back when, I once actually saw a million dollar bill. It was in a company my dad worked for at the time. A Life Insurance company. :p

There's no such thing as a million dollar bill. Maybe you were playing monopoly high or something.

It's true. There never was a Million dollar bill. It just makes sense. Why would the Fed ever assign that much value to one piece of currency (paper)? The only reason the $100k certs were issued were to document a transaction between the US Treasury and the Fed (tp print money).

Now I wonder what it was. It had one heck of a lot of zeros, and it was currency. 30 years and creeping senility I guess...

we had some pallet stacks of money like that come through work last year..
you wouldnt believe the amount of security they had escorting it to a plane.. they shut down the ramp and everything. they had it in these weird clear plexi boxes and you could see the cash bundled up.

judging by the pictures up top, it mustve been about 500million depending on the bills
thats about as close as ive ever been to money like that
