I just had to get a new (new to me) car also. The wife totaled out the car that we sacrificed an assload to pay off even through the great recession. It was the very last bit of debt we had.
It was paid off 13 months before she kissed an oak tree with it at 35 MPH. I opted for a certified used 2013 Nissan Rogue with only a few miles on it and a 60 mo/60,000 mile warranty.
After the insurance settlement I still had to finance 9 grand at 2.74%. We're currently getting 27 MPG city. Not as good as that Ford, but I'll take it.
    Out with the old....

I think it may be. We just got another recall notice on the G6 for a total of four open recalls (even thought it's a dead car-cass in a junkyard somewhere now).
And they weren't for light little things either.

This car is fantastic! I can't get over how solid and well built it is, great chassis and modern comforts. I love the heated Recaro seats. The stereo (Sirius XM, bluetooth, voice and steering wheel controls and more) is great.

Let's see what's been changed on it...
removed front plate and some bumper plugs:

I had it detailed by the best in the business: http://instagram.com/autoconcierge/

I installed a stiffer engine mount because the engine moves around a lot stock.

The car is super nimble and quite fast. Then I tuned the ECU for more power and torque. Here's the dyno:

Also threw in a BMC like filter for a little more flow and engine / turbo noise.

Lol, that was my first thought too. CO is a 2 plate state and I've gotten pulled over for it, can't imagine CA not being more fascist about it.

It depends on if there's a trip permit in the back window. Oregon has it written somewhere that there must be two plates, but they rarely enforce it.
The cops use it as a handy tool to pull people over when they have no other reason.
That ford is a fine looking vehicle.

The Fiesta ST is a monster, I'd love to have one. Such a bargain for what you get.

A monster? It's a turbo 1.6. Not really that big of a deal. But turbo cars are always fun platforms.

Torque for days. Look at that dyno - 240 at 2500 rpm, at the wheels in a 2800 lb car and a 6 speed. Not a beast to me but it's a wicked car by most measures. And it eats up tight twisty corners like nothing else.

I'm not hatin'. I'd rock the shit out of it. Although I couldn't ever justify buying a brand new car again.

Nice car! Numbers look great but...

Why ditch the S2000? I don't like many Hondas but the S2000 is FUN! Aftermarket is plentiful. Why Dan? WHY?

It was my second S2000, and it was super clean but somehow I just wasnt excited about it. The engine's awesome, but I did get pretty bored with it in the out of VTEC powerband, which is where you spend most of your time. And to have fun in the car, you had to be in the VTEC powerband which started at about 30 MPH. Driving around town, you'd be in the "slow as hell" powerband 95% of the time. The Fiesta's powerband is so much more usable.

Also I'm super white and was getting sunburned from driving with the top down all the time, just getting way too much sun. No matter what hats and sunblock I wore, it was just too much. Then it was old and had no features, an awful stereo... and I always felt like I had to garage it (my girlfriend only has street parking). I was also scared someone would steal its seats or wheels (both mint and special JDM BBS wheels). I just couldn't enjoy it like I should've...

If I had a house on the ocean I'd love to drive it on Highway 1 all the time. In a suburb, it's about the worst car ever.

Oh and the only car I've ever owned that I consistently miss is the MR2 Spyder. That thing was so much fun.
