I am a E-4 (soon to be E-5 hopefully) Electronics Technician for the USCG. I am currently going to school for my AA, this last quarter is hard because I'm getting ready to transfer next year and my focus is elsewhere. My long term goal is to get a BS in Business Administration with strong emphasis on Psychology and Finance. I want to be able to get my CPA after I get my BS. I like school, but I find it hard for me to concentrate so no Masters or PHd here.
At PSU? By the way, are you working on Friday? Puffer and I are going to come in and bother you. I'm a student, looking for work. Majoring in Advertising and Marketing and I'm moving to the projects in January since I can't find any jobs in this godforsaken city . Scooby, get me a job at SB. I've been doing some small freelance jobs in graphic design (which was what my last job was) and translation to help pay da billz.
I am a Solutions Architect for a mid-cap software company. Currently, I design software delivery systems used in retail, merchandising, and logistical outfits.
I'm an Aviation Electricion in the Navy. I do the same sort of stuff as jishory except I work on the F-18 Super Hornet. I'm leaving next week to be stationed in Japan for 2 years.
I'm the Director of Social Marketing at a well-known real estate firm. I over see the online activities of 10 offices and 1000+ people, including training and maintaining portions of the corporate online presence.
I work for a large chain electronics store working in the computer service department. I only work 2 days a week and my specific job is going to peoples homes and setting up the new shit they buy at our store (mostly wireless networks and setting up computers/printers). Its super easy and I love it. The rest of the time I am a full time student at California state university majoring in business administration, concentrating in finance, risk management and insurance.
I do a variety of things really. I work in Field Technical Operations for Comcast, I work with field techs and develop action plans etc to optimize operations in the field and customer service. It is like quality control and data analysis rolled into one. It can be fun but it usually isn't.
full time student (this semester at least) - AA in comp sci next may full time IT engineer/sys admin/whatever. our company does 50/50 small business support / consulting. I was previously managing multiple smaller clients, but I have moved into the consulting side more and more over the past year, doing projects and one-off jobs (repairing active directory, security stuff, etc.) When it comes to windows i'm our principle technical guy
Self employed semi retired residential contractor. I went from building homes to remodels and garages/shops....the easy stuff. The economic downturn and another circumstance combined, provided for time to get resituated back into the way of life I enjoy immensely. I live a simple and sustainable life in concert with the only planet we have. PS. I also make boo-koo more income than before.....booooo-kooooo! I can work less and make out better with far less expenses. from this: to this:
I'll be working early in the morning Friday, but mainly just during the early AM rush. Out by noon. What's puffer doing here? And yeah, unemployment is still pretty zany in Portland. SBC is pretty loaded right now, I just got my hours cut. /grumble I'll keep my eyes peeled for you though.
wiskas... you amaze me i hope the way of life you live is still available to me when i reach my mid to elder years
He had to take care of some stuff in Seattle and it was WAY cheaper for him to fly here from MI and take the train up. He comes back on Friday at 3 if you want to get together around then. I have a dinner thing, but after that we're going to a show and you're more than welcome to join us.
I put my list of past jobs on the other thread. I'm just a full time student now. I was tired of splitting my time between school and work, really sucks because I had no time to really think up great ideas and then put them into action. I declared Art my major, but I'm thinking of going the film/tv/radio way. Not really sure of much of anything right now. I'm just about done with all of my general stuff anyway, guess I'll have my AA soon.
