Friend was there and a member of her party was shot non-fatally and taken to the hospital, doing ok. Of course another member of a company I worked for was shot during Aurora so sadly numb to this shit at this point.
A few locals were there too. I don't know them, but it's crazy how diverse the crowd was. Fuck gun nuts.
It wasn't a gun nut, it was a nut with an illegal automatic weapon. If it weren't that, it'd have been a semi, bus, home made bomb, home made poisons, etc. Mental health care went away a long time ago and now we're seeing the fruits of that neglect.
This guy seemed to be flying waaaay under the radar. As far as people knew, he was weird, but not even his brother knew he was a psychopathic homicidal maniac. The gf returns to the US soon, if she hasn't already. The guy wired 100K to the Philippines last week, from whence she hails, but it's unknown if it was to her or her family. She was actually in Hong Kong and is not a suspect. Maybe she can shed some light, though. Coffee-shop employees at his local casino say he treated her like shit, but nothing violent or overtly threatening.
Fuck that noise, 30+ guns at the hotel or his residence? He's a gun nut. Also bumpstocks are a legal way to skirt the semi-auto vs full auto laws.
