* now clean shaved!!* OMG MY BEARD IS SIX MONTHS OLDD11!! So as of 3 days ago, my beard is 6 full months old So is my hair actually, since I shaved my face and head on the same day. My goal was to grow it for six months, last year I only lasted about 5 until I cut it off, but I got a late start that time and it's warm in the spring. So here is where it stands right now, throughout this week and next week I'll be cutting it off in pieces and probably rocking some goofy facial-hair styles in the coming days. I'll post new pictures in this thread every time I cut it into a new style, you can all point and laugh So the next thing is to grow my hair out, that should be interesting.
I really don't understand the 'facial hair is itchy' thing. Mine has never really felt that way, ever. Here is my dad and I this weekend, up at our cabin after a day of back country skiing:
When you find your facial hair itches, just give it a few more days of growth and the itching seems to stop from my experience. I had a bit of a beard going the past month or two, then I finally shaved and trimmed it the other day back into my old goatee. Shaving sucks, so over-rated + bonus my woman likes it.. makes me looked more "manly" apparently
man, WHY! youre young! enjoy it with a clean shaven face and stubble.. why the rush to look like an old bum... dont understand.
Nonononoooo, Torx! He is rushing to look like a LUMBERJACK! Plaid flannel shirt! Ax in hand! Shod in sturdy footwear! A LUMBERJACK, I tell you!:chicksmiley2:
Yeah the itching thing is a myth I believe. Everyone that doesn't have facial hair always tells me "I could never do that because it itches", but they've apparently never tried. It's weird at first, but not itchy, and I imagine even a long beard wouldn't itch. It's not like it's permanent He can go 6-months on beard, 6-months off etc and experience both worlds.
Just look at 950s profile pics going back to the dawn of Tweak, I don't know a single other member who has changed appearance so many times. I've pondered if it had to do with him being a triplet, seeking a unique identity, etc. I find such facets of human behavior to be pretty interesting. My mother was a twin, and they've maintained almost identical appearance, including hairstyle and dress, for their entire 64 year lives. That too I find interesting.
You just have to bear with it, till the beard grows past that phase. Otherwise, your scalp, eyebrows, and groin would also be in a constant state of itchiness as well! Edit: I know you're all suddenly feeling the need to scratch!
nice one, tas. glad to see my goat/'stache combo is trustworthy. my beard only itches for a few days when i grow it out, then stops when it gets longer.
lol i saw that and was scrambling to find it and post here. lol, look at the package on that lumberjack! lol
Beards FTW!! I've grown mine out to be a little longer than in that pic, but always feel dissatisfied with how curly it gets and how round it makes my face look.
Ha, I plan on doing some goofy things, but that is just too far Good lord, look at that guy! Exactly. Really I guess I just like to mix it up. It's fun to be a shape-shifter. The reason is essentially the same for why I wanted to drop all the way to 150 pounds, and why I thought it would be funny to get all the way to 200 a few years back Thing is it's really just the hair, I've pretty much been a jeans and t-shirt guy for ever, so it's not like I'm one of those people who dresses up from raver to goth to preppy to stoner or any of that shit Once I grow my hair out, I may just have to do cornrows and dreadlocks for a bit, just for kicks! hahaha...
Step one: just trimming the neckline so it has a true 'form' to it: That's actually more hair than it looks like (and before anyone else says it, yah, it looks kind of like pubes) Much more shape to it. I was just working in the shop, and it feels totally different, my neck felt cold! But it means my beard was helpful and very practical at keeping me warm over the winter at work and in the mountains. And one just for laughs, haha. ...my god my face is skinny. Anyways, I'll probably cut another bit off on Wednesday, so stay tuned folks!
I be trustworthy (3 months of trustworthyness right there) Now I know what 950 stands for: the nine hundred fifty faces of Scott Your face has lost a ton of weight!
What he lost in body fat, he gained in facial hair! As for my lumberjack pic, it was the first google image to look like a lumberjack, that didn't involve Monty Python and Canadian Mounties. I really never noticed the... bulge... until you guys pointed it out. I did think it looked awfully gay in any case, but that just made it funnier!
