Yeah, I stayed till the end for Iron man and batman begins. I felt shafted waiting to find nothing at the end of the dark knight. I wanted my 15minutes back.

    Short review:

I liked the movie. Definitely the best comic-based movie of all time, easily. You've heard it again and again, but Heath Ledger as the Joker was absolutely unbelievable. You could tell throughout the whole movie that the Jokers only reason for doing things was for the chaos, "fun" and thrill of it. That was badass.

Harvey Dent... wow. That's all I gotta say. Aaron Eckhart is another amazing actor (Thank You For Smoking, etc.).
My ex was cringing over and over when he turned into Two-Face.
I thought the CG was well-played in that regard. They didn't overdo it at all. That explains the whole movie though. The CG is used so sparingly in exchange for close face-to-face combat scenes and great dialogue. I hope George Lucas sees this and learns a lesson.

My only gripe is that at the 2-hour mark, they could've rolled the credits and it still would've been the epic film everyone's hailing. At 2 hours, the film had climaxed, major details for a sequel had been revealed. But it goes on for another 30 to 40 minutes, even to the point of telling myself in the theater "..wow, this definitely could've ended already".

I saw it at 10:30, and was already a little tired so I definitely need to see it again to get the feel of the movie. Although the movie was STUNNING, I'm sad to say I didn't walk out of the theater "blown away" as 99% of the people that saw this movie are describing. Maybe it had to do with me being tired. I hope so. Hopefully the second time around will be even better.

Right now, I'll give it a 10/10 just based on the amazing choices in script, dialogue, actors, lack of CG scenes (seriously, take a cue from Nolan. Less is more.), great action sequences, and one bad ass villain that could never, EVER be replicated. Gotta hand it to Heath. I laughed when I heard they cast him as the Joker, but I couldn't see anyone else being the Joker in that movie except for him. He brought it to a whole new level.

I saw the movie last night. Fucking incredible! Its a shame Heath had to die.

I don't know if the sequel will be able to compare if they don't include the Joker.....he's just the best Batman villain.

I must be the only one that finds it annoying when the camera is too zoomed in on all the fight scenes. That was my only gripe...

Car chase + 18 wheeler + bike scene was the best...

That's actually a pretty common complaint in current action films. It's a shortcut in directing according to my film making buddy. They do it so you basically can't keep up, and they can do fight scenes in multiple takes. It allows for a lot of mistakes to be covered up.

saw it today.. wish i coulda seen it in imax because my local shit-tastic theater didnt even turn on the full thx surround, just the front speakers playing. pissed me off.

    but anyways..
bale is my boy, i love anything hes in so you know i was in there fappin it. :p

    CONS
    - his batman voice, i did not like, and i cringed everytime he spoke
    - rachel is the most ugliest woman they had to choose.. i couldnt bear watching her scenes because her face is wretched.
    - heath had to go and kill himself like an asshole, so we'll never get another best-joker-ever, again. Unless in the future they will have developed true artificial human facial placement.
    - the movie was waaayy too long, like everyone else i was getting antsy in my seat after the climax.. They coulda left it at that and it still woulda been great.
    - the fight scenes were too up close and too fast to where i couldnt keep up with what was going on..
    - there was no surprise footage at the end of the credits. I think im being spoiled about this, but i know im not the only one because we ALL stayed after the credits for something to tickle our fancy.. pewp.

    PROS
    - the movie was a surreal crime drama with real criminals and real human people, amazing how they pulled it off.
    - jokers plots and plans were the most brilliant ive ever seen and he pulls them off one after the other, over and over.
    - explosions were truely awesome
    the gotham general hospital scene
    - people actually died harsh deaths in this movie and that kinda creeped me out especially coming from a batman movie..
    - harvey dents makeup/special effects are the best ive ever seen. I literally was jaw dropped trying to figure out if it was classic facial prop animation or cgi, and i really love where they went with this style of character creation.
    - morgan freeman is the win... and i like his stance on "reminding" people in the audience that mass telecom spying is not tolerable.

I liked it but didnt love it. i give it a 9/10, and i feel kinda depressed i didnt get that excrutiating love for the movie like most have.. and its also depressing we have to wait another odd number of years for the next batman or the next big hit... because i dont think anythings going to top batman and ironman this year.

ironman is still the winner to me.

This is currently rated the #1 movie in IMDB's Top 250 movies of all time. Its of course an aggregated rating from internet users but still. It has been said it will drop down a few points but its a 9.4 with 115,000 votes and the next movie is at 9.1 so it will take a lot of people voting 1 to bring it down to #2.

    Some other tidbits of info:
In 3 days this movies box office sales surpassed all of Batman begins box office sales.
It made the most a movie has ever made for midnight screenings, passing star wars 3
It also had a record breaking IMAX opening.

Yeah, my girlfriend was saying, "Why does he talk like that?"
    I told her, "It's batman!"
    45 minutes later
"I don't like the way he talks"
    "...Yeah, it is kinda annoying..."

I had the same gripe. My buddy and I went and saw the movie on the opening day as non-Batman fans and we still thought it was a fantastic movie regardles.
I remember getting all excited when William Fichtner's character jumped up and went after Joker's men with a shotgun during the bank robbery. Cool cameo.
This was a movie full of fist-pumping awesomeness with a great cast. After seeing Aaron Eckhart in Thank You For Smoking, I've grown to become a fan of his and he certainly didn't disappoint in this movie.

I don't know what I can say about the Joker that hasn't already been said. Heath was off the wall bonkers here and really made this movie something special. For those of you familiar with Twisted Metal, I was drawing some major similarities with Sweet Tooth. Heath Ledger's portrayal Joker is definitely Oscar-worthy. Not because he died, but simply because he dominated this movie with his intensity.

    /review

I'd really like to go see this again, preferably in an IMAX theater this time. Scrubbin, want to take a field trip to the IMAX in Manchester? :-D

    She whispers, respectively.

Since you brought it up, school is still out in Miami and all the arrogant assholes are hitting the theaters. I specifically told my gf to NOT sit next to any young crowds. Sure enough, when the movie started, there was 3-4 guys (probably 16-17) sitting 5 rows behind us. They'd purposely talk out loud and laugh at a volume above everyone else, as if they're funny. God, I can't fucking stand those people.

I used to work at the local theater and I know the GM still. I just leave for a minute and she comes back and kicks them out.

i hate dum ass punks who have no consideration of other people in theaters. As much i like watching movies when it comes out i just now wait for HD or Blue. Its not worth the frustration of being in theater and hearing people whispers and voices.

When I went to the Thursday night airing of this movie, there was zero talking. It's great. If there's midnight showings of movies, go to them. It's typically people who respect the theater atmosphere.

Saw it last night - my only complaint was that most of the fight scenes just were too dark that you couldn't see half the action taking place. I know its part of the whole batman thing but it works in the comics when you have time to look and read - in the theater with camera panning every which way I was kinda bummed you could barely see anything.
The acting by eckhard and ledger though was amazing. They brought the joker and two face to life in ways that two icons like Nicholson and Jones just barely brought it. I give it an 8/10 - Still like Iron Man better - but only because he was my childhood hero - still have about 50 issues :p

It was great, but it was hyped up so much I felt just a little bit disappointed when I finally watched it.

BTW, they could bring back the Joker for a small cameo like they did with the Scarecrow. I believe Joseph Gordon-Levitt could pull it off with some make up and a few more pounds.

I'm getting withdrawals. I saw TDK for the 3rd time last sunday in Imax and have been trying to get imax tickets again but the shows keep selling out.

Shit... I've just been listening to the soundtrack, but i think it's making things worse.
