Spin it all you want. You tried to find legal precedent about a law that didn't exist.

I'm pretty sure I found precedence. In fact that's what the whole article was about, the Bush administration ignored that precedence.

How in the hell did you take offense to that? Unless you are telling me that you are inbred and advocate inbreeding.
I was backing up tac's right to speak and voice his opinion on this board. In fact I was advocating that different opinions are good and keep us from being mindless sheep (something MSP has pointed out in a previous thread http://www.tweak3d.net/forums/off-t...ctually-related-tea-parties-44269/#post290423).

Blah Blah Blah. You pointed to some article that states the law doesn't exist and you want to talk about Bush. You're the t3d liberal o'reilly.

Did someone get up in your ass about something? You went from calling someone an Ass to defending the people you insult.

Actually I didn't call anyone an ass, I pointed out that his argument consisted of an assumption that he has no idea what the outcome would have been and trying to use that as argument doesn't work because I could make the opposite assumption to validate my argument.

I bold "ass" because I was referring to the phrase "assuming makes an ass out of you and me", meaning that his assumption doesn't validate his argument or mine.

And for the record I didn't go from calling someone an ass to defending them, I defended them first;)

And with regards to the last quote:

MSP or tac have said the similar things to me in previous threads and I thought it would be funny to throw it back in theirs. (funny to me anyway)

not literally, but the intention is fully there. notice the capitalization (yours, not mine.)

And the inbreeding comment was a thinly veiled insult, you're not fooling anyone. Or was it just tacked on at the end there because you have some passing interest in genetics?

oh, and since you seem to love accountability, I am still waiting for an answer to this:

If you are going to spout off about something, don't just run off when you run out of arguments

I know every conservative does not support torture (water boarding) and that is fantastic, there ought to be more of those people. However when I see probably 95% of conservatives supporting it (at least in the pundit circles), and I've yet to see a single liberal support it, it's really not hard to see how it would become generalized as a conservative position. I'm glad you are against it, and I actually don't lump you in with the rest of those people, believe it or not.

And going back to the Japanese, the point I'm trying to make is our country has a LONG history of being against water boarding, yet its supporters and Bush apologists are acting like there is a real debate on the subject. Let me quote the document that came out of the trials of the Japanese, from the International Military Tribunal for the Far East:

Was it the only thing they did? No, but as you can see it was considered illegal, important, and bad enough to be first on the list, and there is no doubt it is considered torture.

The right has made this issue look like politics as usual, that it is just Democrats verses Republicans, but what we are talking about here is recognized illegal behavior that is considered a war crime. It doesn't matter who committed it, it would be just as wrong if a Democratic administration had done it.
