Well, I actually posted about 2/3 into the movie and having now finished it my opinion has soured a bit. It's a great piece about the evils of credit card debt and predatory lending practices... until it goes completely wacko at the end. One after another they tell the sob story of people who borrowed and spent more money than they could afford to pay back and the banking industry and government were the only villains. What about personal responsibility? It just needed a little balance.

If we would have bankrupt at the same time Russia did, they wouldn't be financially better off than we are now. Those numbers on the CIA site really hit me hard when Fiddy posted that link. We arent doomed, we're already dead in the water, stubourness and pride has us refusing to sink. we can only tread water so long though. When it hit the rest of you, I'll already have my act down pat. Like that black homeless dude on "The Day after Tomorrow"................" there's always something good to eat in the garbage".

So you're saying if our government and society had collapsed, given rise to an era of organized crime that resulted in most of the country being run by mafia, and led to a massive sell off of our natural resources we'd be in good shape now?

    Hot damn, sign me up!

If you’re looking at things clear minded and rationally it shouldn’t really matter what side of it you’re on. Granted that’s a lot easier said then done, when you are someone who’s being effected by economic circumstances, your view’s are going to be pretty scued from the true group reality.

When a lion chases down a gazette and eats it, it’s the end of the world for that gazette. For the lion its simply dinner and, for the rest of the organisms on this planet its business as usual.

Life’s not fair, it never was. Every single one of us should feel extremely blessed simply to have been born in North America/Europe. Statistically speaking we all won the geographic lotto. You don’t get to pick the cards your delt in life, some are born into royalty and riches, others are born into molestation, poverty and abuse, all you can try and do is make the best of the situation you’ve got.

    Fair?

Franklin Delano Roosevelt. 32nd. President, Democrat, Terms of Office March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945. A Democrat, he introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. This law as originally passed promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,
3.) The money participants put into the program would be deductible from taxable income each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General operating fund, was therefore only be used to fund their Social Security Retirement Program.

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

However since that time many changes have been made by congress and approved by the President and became law. Many have paid into FICA for years and now receive a Social Security check every month -- Now we find that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'Put Away' -- you may be interested in the following:

    Dwight David Eisenhower
34th. President, Republican, Term Of Office: January 20, 1953 to January 20, 1961
In 1958 Congress voted to remove funds from Social Security and put it into the General Fund for Congress to spend. If I recall correctly, it was a democratically Controlled Congress. Congress logic at that time was that there was so much money in Social Security Fund that it would never run out and overage accumulated should be used to reduce the federal loan debt. However Government would pay interest on this so called loan that was to be returned to the social security fund if ever needed.
WORSE STILL AFTER PRESIDENT JOHN KENNEDY WAS ASSASSINATED - President Johnson took over --

Lyndon Baines Johnson 36th. President, Democrat Term Of Office: Nov. 22, 1963 to Jan. 20, 1969.

Question: Which Political Party took Social Security out of the Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the General Fund so that Congress could spend it? Answer: It was President Lyndon B. Johnson and the democratically Controlled House and Senate.

Question: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax Deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding? Answer: Democratic Party.

William Jefferson Clinton, (Bill Clinton) 42nd. President Democrat Term of Office: Jan. 20, 1993 to Jan. 20, 2001
Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (Al Gore) as the 45th. Vice President became President of the Senate.
Question: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
Answer: The Democratic Party, with Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (Al Gore) as Vice President Term of Office: Jan. 20, 1993 to Jan. 20, 2001. He cast the 'tie-breaking' vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US. The Congress now controls all Social Security reserves and funds collected which they dump into the general fund. The real debt to Social Security funds unknown today but exceeds 3 trillion dollars as a best guess.

BUT ---THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMEL'S BACK !!

James Earl Carter, Jr (Jimmy Carter) 39th. President, Democrat, Term of Office: Jan. 20, 1977 to Jan. 20, 1981 Question: Which Political Party President decided to start giving SOCIAL SECURITY Annuity payments to immigrants?

Answer, that's right! JAMES Earl Carter, Jr., Democrat. All Legal Immigrants moved into this country at age 65 began to receive Social Security payments after Jan 1977. The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! WOW! Did you know that?

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this editorial maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe many prayers will be cried out to our Lord Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father to overthrow this corrupt government and its unlawful practices. Maybe not, since most Democrats are awfully sure of exactly what isn't so. But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to? Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

CONGRESS NOW AWARDS THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT AFTER ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!
    Thomas Jefferson
3rd. President, Democrat, sometime between 1777 to Jan. 1781, warned us all,
"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

I'd rather deal with gangsters and thugs.

The Democrats want to take care of everybody, with our money. Compassion is an emotion, and as with all emotions it interferes with rational thought. Providing for everyone without regards to their contribution to society is not a sustainable system. If people don't have to work to survive they won't.

The problem with our system is that we give away all the money to the poor and purposely bereft to make sure they are cared for with no requirements of their own contributions. Communism requires everyone to work to contribute to the good of the whole, where as we are supposedly going into a capital-socialist type system where the poor, middle-class, and rich pay for the really poor. The sad thing is, most people that need help don't get it, the majority of people in that level of society that get support from the government dont need it and are just leeching from the proverbial teet.

Everyone looks at FDR as a great president, as a man who save our country from dark times. I say he fucked up our country and was one of the worst. Not only did he setup defunct and messed up social programs and set our country on a spiraling plummet to doom, he kicked everyone in the face when he got rid of the gold reserve to pay for everything. There is a reason why our money means nothing, and losing the gold standard is one of those reasons.

    Fuck FDR, fuck the parties.

Right now, the way republicans are turning out, the bushes and the like, they are more socialists with dictator like tendencies than traditional conservative republicans. It sickens me how many people blindly follow people with they claim to be from one party or another, but ignore all the things that they do that dont fit. I think the parties should be eradicated because they do nothing but cause strife. I will vote for whoever I think will do the best, not down some party line that might get me something like bush or kerry. That is why I choose not to vote unless I have a candidate I really care for. Dont give me that crap that I should vote anyways, we all know that our votes mean shit down the line.

As with (IMO) most things that start out good, greed for money or power fuck things up.
The things thought of as good are just another manipulation in the end, and someone out there is getting rich off of it. Life is just a scam, one right after another.
