Great news! Now I can get rid of my stupid Blackberry Storm next year and upgrade to the iPhone.

Well the only phone I would upgrade to right now is a BB (Verizon). I heard bad things about the HTC Touch Pro and the other touch phones are meh...

Honestly, if the iPhone had a slide out qwerty kb, I'd just switch carriers.

I feel your pain, in concept I like the phone.
I enjoyed it when I first got it, but I constantly get random freezes, lots and lots of lag (unresponsive), and white screen errors needing a battery pull. + other niggling issues. (there is no newer firmware updates available for the phone.)

Oh and accelerometer lag annoys the shit out of me, I wish I could turn the fucking 'feature' off. And I hate when I go to click on something (holding the phone sorta flat.) and the screen rotates, FUCK! Happens to me all the time.

My next phone will be a Nokia again, fuck blackberry!

I have to fucking pull the battery at least 5 times a day I go to make a call all of a sudden the touch screen won't respond. Fucking thing lags constantly. The battery will randomly just get hot and ate up all remaining bars. You have to lock the screen and clean the screen off every 10 minutes. AND GOD FORBID YOU BRING THE PHONE TO A HUMID AREA cause then the touch screen becomes completely unresponsive in every way possible. My mom has a BB Curve and I am envious of the simplicity. :(

QFT, but I'm fed up with BB so I'm considering an Iphone.

My buddy has one and he likes it but I don't like the small screen and having the qwerty exposed. That's just a style thing though. Sis has the Storm and she seems to like it so that is probably what I would upgrade to.

    NO NO NO!!!

Read the rant that randomtask and I laid out. The Blackberry Storm will give you nothing but headaches.

Really? There's two in my household and they seem to work well, and this is heavy business usage (simultaneous phone/text calls all the time). I'll look into it more. Like I said, I want an iPhone. :)

The thing made me late for work one day as I rely on my phone as an alarm. I woke up an hour after I should have got up and my phone had a white screen with "app error"... yay!

Also one day I was at work and had not received any calls. Upon closer inspection my phone stated the wireless signal as being 'off' (the battery was charged). I went into 'manage connections' the tick box next to "mobile network" was unchecked. I re-checked it.. and all was good again (in an area with perfect 3G signal). It has done this a few times now, really annoying.

Extremely often when I hang up from a call, the moment I press the red hangup button, the screen turns off... the phone is apparently dead. The only way to get it operational again is via a battery pull.

My past Nokia phones would go weeks.. possibly months before i would need to reset them! (actually they rarely if ever 'required' a shut-down.) on the storm it is a daily task. (The only way to do a full re-set is to pull out the battery.) And a fresh start up takes a loooooooooooong time, feels like forever when your waiting for it to come on to make a call.

So in conclusion? This is a horrible phone to 'rely' on as a business phone.

I guess it's been ok so far because if they were acting up like yours did, I guarantee they would go back and have it switched but they haven't. I'm the local techie guy so I hear all the tech related complaints and usually I'm the goto guy to fix stuff like that but have yet to hear a thing about them. These phones were bought 4 or so months ago. Maybe the bugs got worked out of them?

Yeah, I missed several 8am classes due to my phone resetting during the night. They say to use "bed-side mode" and it won't happen but that also turns the phone off not allowing any emails, texts, or calls to come through.

About that.... it's wise to never use a phone as an alarm clock to wake you up. I learned my lesson long ago and have since always used an alarm clock with battery back-up and it always goes off. ;)

I have used all my previous phones as alarms (without issue), all previous phones were Nokia handsets. They know how to make a good phone, thus my next phone I will return to a Nokia.

the storm is a POS from all the accounts i have heard. which is sad, because on paper it kicks ass.
my bb has been near flawless for 2+ years. and i use it to plow through about 200 emails a day + 40-50 calls. still use it as my alarm =)

I really wanted a Javelin but they're averaging about $425 ... I decided to get my feet wet with the Curve since it's my first BB. I'm strongly considering staying with BB products from now on.
