Non smokers seem to be the only one's who even mention those words ("looks cool") in conjunction with the topic of cigarette smoking. What's that tell you? Hmmmmmm:-k

What about just cutting down to like 2 or 3 smokes a week or something.

That's what i reverted to. Sadly, its almost a total relapse for me over a few weeks doing that.

For me it's all or nothing.

Sorry to let down those rotting for me that had quit.

Truly, I felt the worst lighting up the streak-breking smoke by myself while I hid away from everyone.

Regardless, I appreciate all the support. I really wish killing the mental addiction was as easy as the physical.

Most I've met did it solely out of rebellion. The one's that never smoked long enough or strong enough to get addicted were the one's who said it made them "look cool".

Hey here is another option. You can afford to get one of those expensive electric cigarettes. I would look into thos.

I tell you when I'm tempted to smoke, when I'm watching classic films from the 30s-50s. Cinema definitely made it seem so appealing. Hell, watch Ghostbusters again. You probably didn't notice it at the time, but people were lighting up all through that movie.

Anyway, the balance I've struck with cigarettes is not to make it a habit. I've accepted that I'm going to cheat now and then, and don't beat myself up about it. I'll smoke a few and then be done with them again for a month. I just enjoy them, and if I'm able to throttle my usage of tobacco that well then why not? My wife on the other hand...

Electronic cigs are good for awhile but the real cig just can't be replaced. Like I can do the elec cig while at an office for like 10-12 hours but after awhile the urge is still there...snus helps cut down a bit too.

Dude, I am totally interested in the electric cigarette. Where do you get your supplies, cost, etc?

Well yah, and everyone knows rebels are cool, therefore smoking is cool!

Oh yah, just look at how he holds his cigarette, so cool!

I went to the smokesafe.com. I read a few ecig forums for a week just to get an idea of what to buy. I went with a middle of the road cig with coke flavored nicotine. I think total cost with the carts + nicotine was $65 shipped. Monroe is the guy that runs that site and is pretty damn cool. He answered all my questions and when they forgot to ship something he got it out next day with no questions asked. I haven't reordered anything yet though as I use it infrequently.

Lurker, don't worry..... I bring around a cigarette case, I put 3 or 4 in and that's what I'll have for the rest of the day. If I don't smoke any, great! If I do, I'll only have 3 or 4 with me instead of as many as I want....

That's not bad, found a few places online that sell them. So how would you rate the experience versus a regular smoke?

The one I got is pretty close to smoking a cig. The thing I hate about it is that it doesn't feel the same. It's heavier and you have to press a button to start the inhaling process. You get a decent hit but the carts will usually run out of nicotine after roughly 3-5 cig equivalents. It's also messier to setup plus you have to keep the battery charged. It's kind of a hassle but if I know I can't go out for a long period of time they are lifesavers.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one. My wife is hopelessly addicted, and it's only the threat of divorce that keeps her from being a chain smoker. And she doesn't like the gum. Thanks for the info.
