So tomorrow (8am) I'm having surgery. Having Orthognathic Surgery (corrective jaw surgery) for a pretty small under bite, which, you know, could cause me problems in 30 years  But, it's worth getting it taken care of while I'm still covered under my parents insurance. So they will be doing that to my lower jaw. Essentially cutting a chunk out, sliding it back, and bolting it in place. Crappy picture I just took, lets see how much my face swells up! I have to say, I'm not worried about it, but I'm certainly not looking forward to it. Won't be able to work for probably a month at the very least, school starts next week (hope I can even go), I want to be working on my bug, I still have more firewood to split, and of course I won't be able to solid food for a while, and I love food Party on Wayne. Party on Garth.
sucks dude... hope surgery goes as planed... does this mean you have to carry a special card when you go through metal detectors???
fvck that noise...if it dont hurt dont do it. thats how i do things...fvck doctors and their stupid shinanigans of always trying to get people to do things they dont need. heaven forbid but what happens if you get into some kind of accident later on down the road and your face becomes even more jacked up than it should have been because of a dumb surgery like this? edit: your face has character and i bet women compliment you on it all the time? am i right?
gaaaaaaaayyyyyyy anyway man, good luck with the surgery, looks like recovery will be kind of intense, but I imagine for you, it won't be "nuthin but a thang". Ill be sure to have a juicy steak for you
I agree. Doctors are more than willing to milk an insurance policy if they can. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". But it seems you already haver your mind made up, so here's to a speedy recovery, good luck and hope it turns out weller than expected.
you should take some profile side shots too. post them asap. so we can see how far your jaw juts out compared to later. good luck dude. thats some serious shit. honestly, from most of your pictures i cant tell or see how the underbite is affecting your image. then again, ive never really seen you smile. need pics of smiling too.
Crappy picture number two: It's really not something that looks bad or anything, it is that my teeth only come together on one or two in the back, so eventually my back teeth will wear out since it is the only contact point. There is no pain or anything like that. It will be interesting to see how my face changes though. It's probably only a 1/4" of movement, so it shouldn't be much, but I think I'm a pretty decent looking guy, I fear I can only go downhill!!
This is the type of preventatory surgery that may save him tons of money down the road. 950 could end up having permanent bitter beer face, otherwise. If the doctors make money off of him, so be it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLYxRWjHzwQ
Man there is no way I would get that done. What kind of problems could it cause in 30 years? Your jaw dosen't look wierd at all right now.
godspeed fitty, i have problems with my wrist every once and a blue moon due to my ulner being to long, they wanted me to get it fixed, but the downtime was like 8 weeks, and that cant happen. so i decided against it for now.
Have a care to avoid a resistant staph infection. Oh, and since they're dealing with bone, it's probably more apropos to call it going under the saw...
