I hear ya-- a lot of those I've never heard of let alone seen. SoulAssasin, I've not seen There Will Be Blood. I love Old Country but have to admit the ending was a little opaque. Not that this is any excuse, but the ending makes more sense if you go back and listen to the opening narrative. Old Country has the best bad guy since Darth Vader.
What? Darth Vader was ruined by SW 1,2,3. He turned out to be a whiny ass bitch with mom issues. I used to be afraid of Vader ( I was young when the original 3 came out) and then came to love the bad guy. Now I just think he's a bitch. The Fett characters grew on me though esp. with the KOTR game/SW books.
I must say I disagree with almost the entire top 10. It feels like they have thrown a lot of foriegn films up there just to be pretentious and say "Americans? They cant make good films". LOTR doesnt deserve to be in the top 10 IMO. Amelie was good, but number 3 of the decade? that's a bit of a stretch. And City of God as number 1? blech. And why Eternal Sunshine over Science of Sleep? I guess sunshine is more accessable... for some reason I can't find the other 40 movies. But I'm assuming I'd hate that list too
I completely spaced out City of God, Amelie, Squid and the Whale, Once, and High Fidelity. All of those movies are especially fantastic, and overall their list is pretty much in line with my opinion of the past 10 years. There are a few WTFs like L'Enfant. I had such high expectations for that movie but it ended up being similar to jerking off for two hours and not cumming.
I really liked Pan's Labyrinth. It was probably my favorite mind-fuck movie in the past 10 years. There was a lot of "WTF" scenes
Not in order -Shawshank Redemption -Boyz In The Hood -Green Mile -Walk Like a Man -Mall Rats -Snatch -Hackers -Braveheart I didn't really like this movie but the idea and everything was a good educational video....It was fucking messed up though -Kids
Most of these movies weren't in this decade.. And for those who said the Matrix Trilogy... The original wasn't in this decade, so without in that series, I'd hardly say 2/3 were worthy of top movies of the decade.
haha...well so many people have puyt movies down from not in this decade either soooo you say that to them too mmmkay?
:crybaby: STOP PICKING ON ME :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:
So many great movies this decade, it's impossible for me to pick one. I have seen No Country for Old Men more than any human should have though.
the majority of the time I'm on here I've either smoked a few bowls, a doobie to my dome, or have been drinking the rest of the time, I've just woken up no need to hate or make fun of me cuz I do it all on my own but thx!
For me, it's definitely this... Ink (2009/I) I went and saw a screening of it in NYC earlier in the year and met Jamin Winans and his wife. The two of them basically made this movie completely by themselves (along with the actors, of course). But they filmed the whole thing with one camera, he did all the effects and post editing himself on his computer, he digitally composed the entire soundtrack to the movie on his computer, his wife designed and created all the costumes and everything for the film, etc. And despite it being made on a small budget and everything else, it was an awesome film. (A side note... if anyone saw the film short "Spin" YouTube - SPIN ... it's by the same people.)
I thought so too! Also, here's the trailer for the movie, since I didn't put that before YouTube - Ink Official Trailer 2 (HD)
