Interesting. I always thought survivorman was more realistic anyway because he's out there with the camera equipment by himself.

Yea, I give Survivorman alot more credit than Man Vs Wild. I've only seen a couple of the latter and when he got to the part of making fire and brought out his flint I felt cheated. Survivorman makes fire with whatever is in the area, Cast Away style. Man Vs Wild is still a good show and has interesting stuff but you gotta go with Survivorman if you want more realistic survival.

Man Vs. Wild such a FRAUD!! video

here's a video that should answer your question. real or not, I still enjoy watching the show though. (Survivorman is better though) :)

Anyone who believes either of those shows are 100% real is a retard. Obviously he can't do that kind of camera work by himself and he even mentions the camera crew on a few occasions.

I wouldn't discredit him completely though, he does some pretty impressive stunts and climbs without any visible form of safety ropes or harness....at least he eats weird and disgusting stuff?

I pretty much lost all interest in the show after seeing the video a while ago. There's a part of me that would like the show and what he's doing to be real when I watched it, because it's more interesting that way, even though I know it couldn't possibly be. When I actually saw them staging it and confirming what I sort of guessed, then I lost interest. I think the only survival type show I like on Discovery these days would be "I Shouldn't be Alive" because I'm confident that those are least true stories being reenacted. I don't know though if they have new episodes of the show.

Torx touched upon the motivation I have for even entertaining viewing these shows. for one, it's TV....of coarse it's fake. Number two, it's the techniques that I watch for. These shows highlight the 'ways' that a person can survive.

I know in one episode where he was going down a river my boss noticed a life preserver on him. But the premise of the show is him showing people how to survive the wild, its not reality TV.

    GO Suvivorman!
