Got a used hvr 1600 shipped for 70 and I am looking for an antenna now... Just cruising bestbuy's website and the 10 dollar rca one had most/highest reviews. Is it worth it to get anything else? Should I just try the 10 dollar one and if it works well, stick with it?
They can work, some better than others. It depends on the broadcast output of the stations you try to get, any terestrial interferance, mountains, buildings etc. much the same as cell reception.
Get the antenna, see if it works. If it does, golden. If it doesn't, return for a more sensitive model. Digital TV is awesome due to the fact that it's either there or not there signal-wise.
