Just finished Gurren Lagann. I didn't expect to be done so soon, but those last 8 episodes almost have to be watched in succession. Fucking cliffhangers. I really liked it. I liked the helix king arc more than the anti-spiral one, but meh. It was still good. I'm gonna try to get into Claymore now. PS: SUPER BUMP. Any "new" series that haven't been mentioned yet, that I should check out?
nothing that was really great. probably the best one i've seen lately is genshiken, but it's one of those slice of life anime some people find boring.
I tried to get into Gurren Lagann... didn't really like it. I did watch Berserk though and enjoyed that one quite a bit. Maybe I'll watch Claymore next....
Currently, the only new ones I bother to watch are: Aria the Origination Spice and Wolf and Shigofumi
I rented the first two volumes of Champloo tonight. I always see and episode here or there and figured it was time to watch the series. It's really good so far.
That's to bad it's different from the other mecha series but that's why I like it. Hope you like Claymore!
OK, who's up to date with the Bleach and Naruto mangas. With Naruto I want to start where they find Sasuke. Not sure where to start with Bleach though. They are in Hueco Mundo to save Inoue Orihime. The pace is sooooo slooooow it's insane. HELP!!!!!
Downloading Shippuden as we speak. I haven't watched it since like episode 28 or so, whatever one the Puppetdude vs. granny fight is in.
i'm up to date on most of the shonen jump comics + some young jum and other publications... they have their first face off with the new sasuke in 307, but start the story arch (aka battle with orochimaru in 288)
bleach i can't tell you as much....they first enter hueco mundo in 71. they get into soul society in 85. he starts to battle kenpachi in 108 i think.
btw shippuden/the new bleach are both god aweful ever since the filler breaks imo. only anime that has managed to keep the same level of animation quality, plot, and faithfulness to the manga is one piece.
Well, the pace in bleach is very slow indeed. After all the complaints related to the filler arcs, I guess they decided to change their strategy. I'm fed up with the double episode fights.. haha I beat you Espada! oh noes, I still gotta release!
I couldn't bear watching Shippuden, especially after the fight with Naruto on the bridge. One blow, followed by each charactor adding details and backstory on this particular blow, followed by implications of that blow, and enemy strategizing about how to negate that blow, all before we can get to the next blow. Rinse and repeat. It's painful! I've pretty much stopped watching anything but Hayate, Minami-ke: Okawari, and Aria: The Origination. And the occasional release of Mnemosyne. I've been burying myself in manga instead. Lots of interesting stuff to read out there, including the Claymore manga. Angel Densetsu just finished it's final chapter, and it's fun to compare the characters in this manga to the ones in Claymore. Some of the resemblances are uncanny.
i've always thought manga to be far superior to it's anime adaptations, the plot is more focused and the art is way better.
I hate reading most action sequences rather than watching them. Speed lines don't really cut the mustard, I'm afraid.
Bump but, I just watched Shippuden 39-40, and jesus fuck was that the worst god damn episode ever. It was a "double" episode, and NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED. I do not want to watch Naruto flex and yell for 45 minutes, what the hell.
Been reading manga lately and liking it but also like anime also. Damn you Goofus, I'm hooked on the Claymore manga and Miria is HOT. Theres something about hot women with swords. lol
