The "music" part at the end. I've been changing the channel at that point for years and was just curious if I was the only one. Honestly, one performance took place in a car as they drove around with the dude just rapping to a CD...
word. not the best flow, but i'm pretty sure he was just freestyling. which is impossible for me. i like rap, but most of the songs on his show i'm not that into. i stillw atch them though because i'd like to expose myself to more rap and really judge it. not just be like "oh it sucks, fuck it" i want to see if the artist is worth checking out further. i don't watch TV though.
I'm OK with rap, not my favorite but I like some. It's just that the entire part of the show seemed forced and awkward to me. Just didn't fit with the format of the rest of the show.
Am I the only one here who can't stand that show? I'm so glad he didn't come back for another season.
If there's anyone worth checking out and listening to it's Mos Def. It's a nice change to not have to listen to bling bling and bitches/hoes lyrics
Deltron 3030 is the name of a CD. The artist is Del the funky homosapien. I liked most of the music bits at the end. The roots stand out in my memory. There were some real bad ones too though.
MSP- Haven't seen the show in a while but will check it out. thadood that video is wrong lol Was never a big rap fan but lately theres a show on local public radio that features rap with a positive message and social issues that I like.
If it's a positive message/feel, i could get into it. I just don't care for any music that promotes/glorifies a negative lifestyle. I'm a firm believer in "garbage in, garbage out", and tend to be wary of what I put in my head.
i call that "intelligent rap" or "intelligent hip hop" (i need to market that slang) usually from those northern groups who rap about political and social issues that still abound our societies.. if its any rap i listen to, it'll be that... other than that, its all garbage to me...
