I did. If you only have four TV channels in English you'll do anything for entertainment. Of course it will take two weeks to get here and because it has newegg on the box, the sorting center in Hong Kong will probably return it because they will think it has a lithium battery in it. APO/FPO/DPO mail sucks.
A few locals have the Nokia phone so I've played with it in bars, I like it, I can see everything I want to see without clicking on an icon, oh sorry, an app
My bad, it's $39.99 and yes it is upgrade pricing. Although honestly, everyone should wait it out and see how terrible it is as the deal will last a while:
Ah! OK, in that case I'm going to wait a while. I've already got another project in the works - turn my Kindle Fire into a universal remote with iRule. http://www.iruleathome.com/
The thing that pisses me off is that it doesn't come with media center. You have to pay extra for that, luckily they only charge $10 for it though. Moves like that tell me Microsoft doesn't get it and I was hoping with windows 8 they would finally create a total package and by extension a complete customer experience (like what apple does). The end is near, which is sad because they have all the tools to put together a sweet ecosystem.
You can get it for free when you buy windows 8 through jan 2013. http://slickdeals.net/f/5385936-Limited-Time-Offer-Windows-8-Pro-Users-Can-Get-Media-Center-For-Free
Sounds tempting, im still working on my android car project as well, ran into some issues with the wiring this weekend
I may get it via a Surface w/office suite(redux). There are so many times I need a tab type system for work. This system may fit the bill. http://surface.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/Content/pbpage.Surface?ESICaching=off
Windows RT is really annoying. Its just like apple when it comes to restriction. No way to disable Secure boot, which means every thing needs there certification. All app from them no out side source. I wonder if the full Window version of the tab be any better. Personally, i am enjoying galaxy note 10.1, the built in digitizer really comes in handy. And my Acer A500 with custom ROM working very well too. Thinking of picking up Note II for cell phone with Straight Talk, for fun.
