Let's go American team made up of 75% Canadian players, let's beat that Canadian team also made up of 75% Canadian players!
Violence at least: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011...110616?feedType=RSS&feedName=worldNews&rpc=76
What sucks is that it was a select few that tarnished and ruined it for the rest of them. I thought the majority of the fans in the arena showed class at the end of the game.
I said after game six if they lose that badly again there'll be '94 level riots. I wasn't the only one who thought so. Lots of stores boarded up their windows the day before in preparation, and liqour stores were ordered to close early by the city. The police were as prepared as possible, but you can really only contain and squash this sort of thing where it pops up... hard to prevent it completely. Yeah, mostly young people who let their anger get the better of them. Also, looked to me like a lot of the people weren't even hockey fans... just there to cause trouble. I hope all those douche-cocks who took pictures of themselves in front of the wreckage or were in the background causing trouble get identified by police and charged (also identified by their employers/school and get shitcanned). Like who brings a crow-bar to a hockey game? Obviously not a fan. I hope they throw the book at these cunts or fine the fuck out of 'em. Brave of that one guy to stand up and stop it.
"By Sea, Land and, Air....we riot!" One of the looters was hit in the balls with a flashbang! That's putting the biscuit in the basket baby!
Weren't there riots after the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Calgary Flames back in 04? I bet even in the middle of all that destruction no one, I mean no one, fucked with a Tim Hortons.
It was a pretty ridiculous excuse to start a riot....I'm not ashamed or embarrassed because I'm not a fan of Vancouver, I hate the city I do think that the Vancouver police should have foreseen some kind of riot happening and not allowed any cars to park in or around the area. I also think they should have had some kind of undercover police in the crowds picking out possible 'hooligans'...and I also think there should have been police standing in front of the stores that got looted.
I think the Canucks should have just won the Stanley cup and left the rioting to the pros; drunk Irish people.
