I had a bomb-ass sandwich just now. Whole grain wheat toast Garlic mayo(shit's bomb) B(riziz)aked chicken breast Cranberry sauce(from a can, dawg) Mustard a bunch of salt and pepper That bitch was off the hook. You feel me?
We started ordering from a different pizza place since we moved. The pizza is mediocre when you initially get it, but you let that shit sit in the fridge then reheat it in the toaster oven or oven the next day and its fucking amazing. So usually we order it, eat a slice each, then save it for the next day's dinner
Mmmm...pizza. Pepperoni, mushroom, ham, green peppers, and onions...Western Pizza House Special...SO GOOD!
Well.... you guys have done it yet again... influenced my decision. Going to eat pizza for lunch now! My mind is weak when it comes to food. Going to a local italian joint called Amici's. Pretty decent sized slices. I'll take a pic of it and post it later. EDIT: Pic!
Amici's lets you order by the slice? I didn't know that. How much are they? The best pizza I've ever had was in Tallahassee. There was a local joint called Momo's whose slogan was "Slices as big as your head". A slice of cheese pizza was just $3.50 and huuuuuuuuuuge. The crust was nice and chewy while soft inside, right amount of seasoning, AND it was a hipster college joint so half of the workers were chicks with HUGE TITS. Gah, I miss that place. They all used to come through my Starbucks and I'd hook them up so I never really had to pay for pizza or beer. I can't wait to go back. Here's a pic I got off of Google search.
SO strange... Read this post at work this afternoon. Didn't think anything else about it. Now I'm home, trying to think of what to do for dinner and wind up ordering a pizza. Checked tweak again, saw this post, realized you subliminally made me want pizza! Posted about it.
Damn that's big! Makes me want to eat MOAR! Amici's has a lunch special everyday. Two big slices and a coke for $4.50. Can't beat that!
We have a place like that in SoCal. It's called Ambrose Pizzaria. Big ass "slices" but not $3.50. More like $4.75. They have the best thick crust I have ever tried. Good stuff.
Some of my favorite pizzas come from Wild River Brewing Company. A wood fired oven in an actual brewery. They also make the worlds best onion rings about as big around as a cantalope with microbrew beer batter. http://www.wildriverbrewing.com/
Pizza is expensive out here for two reasons. One is that any 'western' food is overpriced, because they know us crackas will get the urge and pay way too much to eat something other than rice or noodles. Two, cheese is expensive as hell out here since they don't really eat dairy. That said, I noticed a Pizza Hut across the street, and while it is an admittedly lousy place, I'm tempted now thanks to this damn thread.
Ok, here it is, it's AMAZING!! Across the street from my guesthouse, the Pizza Hut shone like a beacon of good ole' American freedom in a confused Asian metropolis. Dodging tuk-tuks, I risked my life crossing the street for the delicious food stuffs that were kept in this fortress of God and Country! Thanks to the hard work of our soldiers fighting in Iraq or something, the menu was mostly in English, even if the staff spoke almost none. I've been in Asia too long maybe, because I only wanted a 'personal' pizza rather than a large to myself, my American gluttony is fading with each passing day. Must resist! My food arrives, a personal size 'supreme' pizza, a Pepsi cola (the only drink they had besides beer, but I'm sure it was a Thai beer) and bread-sticks, which instead of coming with some good ole American corn syrup tomato sauce, comes with what is labeled as 'cocktail sauce' and is the color of the monks saffron robes. Despite this minor setback, I devour the food without the politeness Thai's displayed in public, and am back on the streets, feeling satisfied and proud of my nations conquest in this far off land! And that was my pizza in Bangkok. .... ....
I'm going to be in Calgary in a couple of hours...and I'm so tempted to order a pizza when I get to my hotel room...good food when you're sitting alone in a hotel room, with NOTHING to do...at least for this night anyways.
Giordano's thin crust with cheese, pepperoni, and sausage is my all-time favorite pizza. There's several locations throughout the city of Chicago and Chicagoland, I highly recommend anybody ever in the area try it. I usually have it about once every two weeks, never gets old. Locations I can think of off the top of my head are: Rush & Superior (Near North... although at this location there's usually a wait during peak hours), Belmont & Sheffield (Lakeview), Irving Park & Austin (Portage Park), just east of Jackson & Wacker (across street from Sears Tower), and well I'm sure they're all on the website if you're interested. Did I say HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend? The best New York style pizza I had was a thin crust, cheese, and sausage from Giovanni's on 150th & the Concourse in Mott Haven, South Bronx. Also would highly recommend this to anybody from the tristate (or visiting) that hasn't been there. Really easy to get to, take the 4, or the 2/5 uptown from Manhattan, get off at 149th/Grand Concourse and walk up a half block. I'm not sure if this is a chain or not, I don't think it is. Awesome fucking pizza, very friendly staff too. Has an old-school Italian atmosphere, and a decent drink selection from what I can remember. Just stumbled across this place while I was looking for something to eat walking around the neighborhood. Other chains I'll eat if I'm not by any of my favorite pizza places. Domino's and Papa John's would probably be my "favorite" ones, even though I'm not too fond of either. As far as frozen pizza, I fully believe spending an extra $3 for DiGiorno stuffed crust vs. Jack's, Orv's, Tombstone, etc. (three meat FTW, no homo) is more than worth it. Delicious pizza, and so much better than eating some cardboard frozen crap... or Little Caesar's. Absolutely disgusting.
