Torx, the issue (this particular situation) is not really about race but more about ignorance. A smart consumer doesn't support a business because of things like the owners race or their employees race, they support a business because it supplies goods or services at a quality level and a price point that is acceptable to them. Doing anything less is just stupid.
So there will be more latinos than whites, but whites will still hold all the money? That sounds like a good time. All I know is, as a painfully white young adult, I know I have it easier than most.
has anyone ever read 'White Like Me' by Tim Wise? It's a very interesting look at white priveledge. It's a bit too complex to sum up in short but basically white people - expecially white males - have a lot more priveledges in the us than anyone else just because they are white. I'm not saying it's ok for that guy to be a dick about supporting who he does, but he's probably had to go through a lot more shit in his life than you, Torx, and probably feels justified blantantly supporting a black owned business. I guess what I'm saying is sure, it's not really ok to support someone based on race alone, but that man having most likely been subjected to racial discrimination thoughtout his life has a lot more right to do so than someone who hasn't.

I'm sorry, but as much as your heart seems to be in the right place, some of your ideals are fucked Torx. If you weren't so dead set on fighting some sort of white guilt or whatever this is, you'd see that that dude has just as much right to make his own petty decision of where he spends a sporadic $6 on lunch. wtf are you talking about? 1- that would never happen. 2- let's just say that you have been discriminated against all your life - i mean really discriminated against, at a disadvantage in educational opportunities, job options, income levels, hassled by police officers and guys who don't want double standards with race- this situation wouldn't exist. it would be the opposite, you would be the guy supporting only white businesses because white people are discriminated against and the black guy would (maybe) be the guy calling you out for it. think about that and try to see where this guy is coming from.
Actually I know exactly what Torx is talking about. I grew up in a black neighborhood, went to black schools for the first 7 years of my life, etc. And we were discriminated against like crazy. Shunned, bullied, threatened, etc. Try this little experiment - if there's a hood in your town, go there, park your car, and try to walk through it. If you and your car survive without damage I would be stunned.
