| Junior Member | I have this same issue in IE7 and FireFox. I haven't been able to fix it, but I'm going to try updating to the latest Java version and see if that makes any difference... if disabling Java helps, maybe it's a Java bug? |

| Junior Member | Well, so far I reinstalled Java and that didn't work. I updated to the newest Flash player in IE7 and FireFox, and that didn't work either. I uninstalled the K-Lite codec pack and that didn't work. But uninstalling Quicktime did the trick for both IE7 and FireFox. Which makes sense, because the last time I updated QuickTime was three days ago and that's when all the trouble started. I think the bug is in the QuickTime codec. Or maybe it's just luck. |

| There's an exploit out now, for 9,0,115,0 and earlier, of the arbitrary code execution kind, that installs a password stealer. As for Quicktime, go with QT Lite or Quicktime Alternative (which is QT Lite along with Media Player Classic) I despise Quicktime. Last edited by Goofus Maximus; 06-01-2008 at 10:35 PM.. |

| According to this, the best solution is to uninstall flash 9 (with a special uninstaller) and install flash 10 beta instead. |

| Junior Member | I have an extremely similar, but apparently not the same, problem. Basically, I have the same symptoms as you, only instead of the "2 second" thing, I can't seek at all. It just sends the time cursor back to where it froze. Also, it usually freezes just the video and Firefox remains fine unless i close the tab or navigate away from the page. Unlike the problem here, Internet Explorer is also affected, and I've tried all the fixes I've seen here, and none seem to work, though I may be doing them wrong. |
