hmm i've never noticed that but i use winrar on my pc and its never ever asked me to buy the software and its the same with every pc i've ever installed it on

I like Zip Genius myself. It does everything I need for non-zip file formats. WindowsXP itself does a good enough job with the ZIP format files.

PLus this one is really and truly free, as in "free beer" free...

Winrar is the one I always use. Yeah it says "trial" but it is kind of like smartFTP and mIRC...the trial expiration doesn't prevent you from using the software.

It's an anoying nag screen but doesn't keep me fron using it. when it pops up, I just hit 'close' and go on with my operation.
