| Tweak Minion | You need to setup a vpn tunnel and then disable the dhcp server on your own lan (usually your 'router' contains the dhcp server) so that the dhcp server on the other end distributes IP addresses instead. Is there a reason you want to be on the same LAN as your company? What is the benefit? | |

One more thing to note MSG: you must plug your incomming connection from the corporate LAN onto the LAN interface (ports 1-4) of the router for it to function as a normal switch. Make sure you disable DHCP FIRST before doing this. IT won't be happy if 2 dhcp servers are running on the same physical LAN. edit- by plugging the corporate connection into the LAN interface, you bypass any routing b/c the routing occurs b/w the LAN and WAN interfaces of the router. | ||

| Some Random Person | Basically the "corporate lan" is a school lan. We're going to be running network security that makes sure people are compliant to policy as far as antivirus/antispyware software is concerned (we support free solutions so noone is forced to buy anything). Mac/Linux people are passed through easily as well. Part of the problem is that we had to block NAT devices, otherwise people with wireless routers would get a free pass to the network so we need a way to allow people with those devices to get their devices to comply. Thanks for the tips so far. im going to test them at work monday and let you know the results. | |

| Junior Member | also, do not plug anything into the internet port on the wireless router. I have this setup at my home, I have my modem, then my main router, and then my wireless router. All i had to do to make everything work is plug the wireless router into a computer and turn off DHCP, and then plug it into my main router, but like I said earlier, do not use the internet port. | |
