Amazon has the TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router for basically 70 bucks and its only for today, i was wondering if anyone has tried the wireless N routers. Or if someone maybe has this router or has heard anything about it, the price seems very good though i could be wrong. Thanks

edit: i have another question about wireless internet my modem is on my 2nd floor and the rooms ill be mainly using my laptop in are in that room and in the room directly downstairs. If they reviews on the router say after about 50-75 feet the speed goes down, will the cieling block the signal and make it slower? Or will it go right through it persay and ill be fine? Sorry i am kinda new to this and just confused.

The router you're looking at is probably the same one I have.

It's pretty rock stable, I have to reset it once a month because the router stops running wireless for some odd reason, but other than that there's no problems.

In my house I have one Wired, and one Wireless computer connected to the router. Transfer speeds are great, and the distance that Wireless N goes is godly. A few months ago we had a 3rd computer in the house. The router is in the north-east corner of the basement, and the 3rd computer was in the south-west corner of the 1st floor, and he had an 88% signal strength. The signal had to go through 3 walls and the floor (ceiling) to get to his computer.

Transfer speeds from wireless to wireless does give something to be desired. It's not horrible, by any means, and is faster than wireless G, but it's not as huge as expected. Transfer speeds were double that of wireless G, but not even close to the '300' I was expecting.

For 70 bucks the router will be good. It does B and G also, so you don't have to upgrade everything else to use the new router, just get some cheap wireless G network cards and have a go at it.

Yeah i ended up getting it. 70 bucks with shipping. It only has to go through one floor, to the downstairs so hopefully i won't loose too much signal i have the wireless N on my laptop and my gf has the old g so its nice that it will work.
