Id say you wont gain anything by upgrading. If you have nothing to lose by doing it, go ahead and try it out and switch back if you dont like. But your comp isnt that good for vista.

It won't gain anything really, unless you plan to upgrade to more than 4GB of ram. Oh, and you'll lose quite a lot of driver support, etc. I'd skip it.

At this point it seems to be fine, especially for OEMs. Building your own is still not close to XP, but if you have a system from the past 2 or so years from a major vendor (Such as HP in this case,) you should be pretty set

Well, you could always create a Ghost image of your current setup in case you want to go back. You've got the software and the interest, why not?

Probably because you did not install it one year ago when all the x64 drivers were even more trash than for vista 32

But I agree, I don't have problems anymore with my Vista 64

Would you guy's say that vista 64 bit is a lot faster then vista 32 bit? I have a intel core 2 duo 2.2 ghz with 1 gig of ram, but don't mind getting an extra gig or 2 gigs if you guy's think i will get much more performance out of vista 64...

Learn something

Get 4 gigs. 4 gigs costs 80 bucks.

I wouldnt say faster or slower. I just happen to like it alot more then xp. I might be in the few though.

I'm already running vista 32 bit and everything runs fine and dandy with 1 gig, just wondering if 64 bit will make things run even better...

64bit is not necessarily faster thann 32bit. only specific applications that really utilize 64bit gain performance. i doubt you will see any difference in "normal" windows work.
you might even have a problem with the drivers, since they are not as mature as for 32bit systems (i switched back to 32bit because of that).

btw, unless you have a decent graphics card i wouldn't upgrade to vista. i f you do, then it's worth it definately.
