| Tweak Minion | Happy? Unhappy? I really want to try switching to 64-bit so I can make use of my 4GB RAM as well as all the multi-core things; but I'm just not sure if it's justifiable... Who's gone from XP-32 to Vista-64 here? Happy? Unhappy? Waste of time? Should I just wait for Windows7? And my specs: Gigabyte P35DS-L E8400 4GB 150GB Main / 250GB Data 9600GT Share your experiences |

| Mega Busted | I can't justify the cost when I'm happy with XP. |

| ¡pɹɐpuɐʇs ploƃ | I've got Vista installed on my bootcamp partition and I'm fairly indifferent too it. It feels like a more polished, super version of XP but then again I don't use it a majority of the time so I haven't completely explored the OS. I just think it's rediculous that it takes over 20 gbs for just system stuff. |

| Tweak Minion | i wouldn't spend the money to buy it (with windows 7 so "close"). it is a lot better than when it first came out though. it wasn't bad when it came out but it did have some bugs that i didn't care to deal with it. i agree with juballharshaw. i say do it if you already "bought" vista but i wouldn't personally go out of my way to buy it. |

| Vagina Friendly Mayor | I have the x86 version of business and I like it. I got it for free from MS for "watching" training videos or some shit. I wouldn't upgrade just for the ability to get to use 4GB of RAM, only if you need more than that. |

| Balls of Steel | I had vista for about 3 months and it worked like a charm, until I started having anoying issue with it, and now that I think about it i can't remember what went wrong. Anyhow I got myself a new version of XP Pro SP3 and downgraded. Now im a happy camper |

| Senior Member | I am a linux individual. But just recently i got new notebook. It has vista premium 64bit. I have always hated Windows. But i mess with vista abit its not too bad. I use it for gaming high end games and havent had any problems. I have 4 gig of ddr3 on notebook so i never seen any drag or lag. Windows run smooth no application crashes. Some of the stuff in vista is very easy and there firewall is not too bad either. One of the cool feature i like since i dont know much about windows. On start you can type what you looking for and find that program right away as long its installed. Or thing that are in OS you looking for just dont know what category. It has some security annoyance but not too bad. |

| Raptor Jesus | Vista x64 has exceeded my expectations, that's for sure. I don't know if it's just because my new system is fairly decent or not, but this shit fliiies. |

| Tweak Minion | Alrighty then I guess I'll save myself some time and not bother installing Vista. 64 bit doesn't seem to be some huge upgrade at all... |

| outside the box! | I cannot say i'm 100% happy with it. it was super cool at first, once the drivers and hardware issues were solved by me. The info and support from MS was totally a joke. then i made the mistake of updating and have had issues off and on ever since. Summary: it's OK, not spectacular, but OK. It takes some getting used to. I liked XP better. the switch to 64 bit hasn't proven that much of a boost in performance. the swithc to coretwo duo had the most impact and i wish that I'd have spent my dollatrs on XP64bit as the DX10 turned out just a bunch of hype that didn't bear fruit. |

| Tweak Minion | DX10 was definitely one of the reasons I wanted to try Vista as well... |

| Cheap Bastard | I upgraded my PC and use Ubuntu as my primary OS and Vista Basic 32-bit for other purposes. Works fine. |

| outside the box! | My bluescrene experience is on par with XP, so no change there. To make a decent and fair determination, I'd have to try both XP 64bit and Vista 64bit on the same hardware. |

| Cheap Bastard | Change the theme to Classic? I disabled all of the effects except for ClearType and showing the content of windows while dragging them. |

| Globe Trekker | 2/3 of my machines have it at home, and we're happy. To the point I wouldn't downgrade to XP at this point. Fast, stable, etc. And the interface is OK. The search capabilities are really quite nice once you get used to them. |
