As of lately, Firefox has begun giving me a few problems. To begin with, I got the mywebsearch toolbar (my wife downloaded and installed it). Then today, the bookmark toolbar started being shown each time I started Firefox. I really wouldn't care, but it appears then disappears, and continues to do so making the Firefox window shake. I've never had any problems with Firefox, but this is a pain in the ass! I can stop the shaking by disabling the Bookmarks toolbar under View -> Toolbars -> unchecking Bookmark Toolbar. But, I have to do so each time I restart Firefox. Now, I've taken care of the MyWebSearch toolbar, and got rid of that. I have scanned with Adaware and Spybot S&D. I have also ran Norton Antivirus. All have been updated just before scanning. Any ideas on how to cure this problem?

It sounds like the extension messed up your config files. You may have to uninstall FF, then delete the "...\documents and settings\yourcomputernamehere\application data\Mozilla\Firefox\" folder, after saving the bookmarks.html file from the "\profile\yourprofilehere\" subfolder.

Reinstall Firefox after this, and reinstall your extensions (I prefer NoScript to AdBlock; less buggy in it's behavior) and themes, then import bookmarks from the bookmarks.html file you saved, and you should be good to go.

The most frequent cause of these sorts of problems tend to be incompatible themes/extensions. I'll never understand why folks want 3rd-party toolbars, anyway!

It worked perfect! I never install any 3rd party toolbars, just hate having a cluttered browser. My wife on the other hand, knows very little about computers and doesn't know how to watch out for this crap when installing other programs downloaded from the internet. I'll have to download NoScript, and give it a shot too. Thanks again for your help!
