My new box, it was a kingwin case, still is, sort of, some pics from the e-tailer for comparison -

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/K...wer%20Case.jpg
http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/i...wer%20Case.jpg

It now contains the quad in my sig, a dual loop, triple rad setup, dual MC355's w/ the XSPC tops, the v2 Dtek alone on a MCR320 QP and the MCW60 w/ a Dtek unisink, the NB on 2

rads MCR120 and MCR220 QP for the vid loop. I used 3/8" tubing slid over the new 1/2" high flow barbs, Bitspower brand. Hot water and KY were needed to fit those puppies.

The single swiftech comes w/ 3/8 barbs soldered on so they had to go.

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/120x1%20rad.JPG

I wanted a 2 bay res but for 2 loops, I could find no such beastie so I made one.

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/res.JPG

Time to hack the case, I went off like an angry beaver,

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/C...k%20drives.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/C...obo%20back.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/C...hack%20psu.JPG

A little paint and the build begins,

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/t...%20painted.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P5K-VM%20octopus.JPG

So I get the P5K-VM up and running and I cooked her w/ a volt mod, it was running sweet at 3.6 but the mofsets were hot and one burned!

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P5K-VM.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/p...2020%20min.jpg

The MCW30 block wouldn't fit the new board but I had this laying around. I left a couple of spare parts in the pic so you could tell where it came from.

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/NB%20block.JPG

New board, a couple packs of enzotech heatsinks and we're ready to go.

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P5E-VM%20HDMI.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P...0HDMI%2001.JPG

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P...DMI%20dark.JPG

In the front you can see my fan control and Lian Li temp readouts, the fan control wouldn't go as low as 5v so I switched the output to the fans on a DPDT switches so I can run

w/ the control or 5v strait from the psu.The temp readout has 3 probes so I have 2 in the loops and one giving me the ambient air temp.

http://aloader.com/files/65/oneone/P...MI%20front.JPG

Well, she's running fine at 3.2, the best I could get from the other board w/o the volt mod so I guess it's time to heat up this board too!
I put coretemp up beside Realtemp for comparison's sake. RT has been calibrated according to the author's instruction at idle. I've set it up on 4 other pc's with accurate results thus far so I trust it over core temp any day.

Yes they are, 200 gig, 7200rpm Hitatchi (travelstar)? and a seagate 160 for the OS/ programs.
I saw a deal posted on anandtech hot deals for usb external HDs' and got two. Notebook HDs' are great for this kind of mod.

Thanks for the kind words guys. A while back I answered a post on watercooling and might have answered with a cocky attitude and I apologize to any and all if I did. Kinda why I posted this, I'm fairly current on WC, kinda got hooked on it and I BLAME YOU ALL! I came here a couple of years ago with a question,,,, that started everything.

Very nice work.

I remember back in the day when I actually thought about water cooling, those were the days!

As far as the noise every fan in my box is downvolted to 5 or 7v. If I run them all at 12 you start looking for the seatbelts, the rad on the bottom uses the SCYTHE "ULTRA KAZE" 120 x 38 mm 3000 rpm and the vid loop uses 3 Scythe "SLIP STREAM" 120mm Case Fan" 1900 rpm. I find the lower end of the fan control to be the sweet spot for cooling and I'll hit the switches to 5 when the pc is idle. The pumps are dead silent, w/ the fans at 5v drive seek is the noisiest thing in this box.

Send me a round trip ticket to Alaska and I'll build the loops free
I probably spent about $500, I didn't keep track. I try to stay away from things like "full cover" blocks for the vid cards because they are more expensive and card specific, both these loops can be used in future builds. A good single loop can be had for less than $300, CPU and one vid card.

Octane sent me a PM on this also so I'll respond here, Every case is different and people have different goals, max OC, quiet, and of course the budget. Air will do quiet, water just does it with better temps. A kit he linked to for the cpu only is a good place to start but water is addictive and I find myself upgrading at every opportunity. If I did a single loop today, depending on the case and what rads I could use it would start something like this, and in this order. Total price $430.

1 pump / res combination $120

rad & 3 fans $90

CPU block and the appropriate nozzle $70

small rad and one more fan $45

vid block and don't forget the memory heatsinks $65

Add to that tubing, $20
fan control $20

Before buying a water kit or building a loop the best thing a person can do is study, Here is a good place to start.
