My dad got a video ipod, and he can't figure out how to put pictures on it. He says it tells him he needs some mac program called Iphoto or something like that.

My question is, is there anyway to get it to work without that program? I seem to remember there was away you could view you're regualar Ipod like a HDD, put I don't know about the video ipod.

Is it formatted for Windows?

I seem to recall you being able to use iTunes to upload photos.

I don't know how it's formatted...he just got it.

I dont know about the video iPods, but my regular 20GB ipod will display as a storage device when connected through USB, not firewire. Try that, I suppose.

He must use itunes

He is using itunes and he is using usb.

That's all he needs to put pics on his ipod... if he cant figure it out tell him to walk into the apple store and ask some random kid thats looking in the gamne section what he needs to do

I was there when he tried it. All it when he picked what picture he wanted to upload it just disappeared.

Try the help feature in itunes or check the instruction manual, do you think it's broken? you should have a 3 month apple warrenty, call them up and you'll get a free help phone call

hmmm i had that same problem for my video ipod, it seems it only accepts form formats, for me jpeg worked fine, gif worked fine, tga worked fine, bmp worked fine and alot of more things worked fine, but instead of using itunes since i got the same error, i just dragged it into the photos section of the ipod when i connected it via usb,the music folder is called $$_photos$_$$ or something like that you should notice easily, and the photos get organized in alphabetical order so put em in folder in alphabetical order also
