| Junior Member | What is in a User Profile? My profile is over a 1gb. Are there things I can do shrink the size of my profile? I'm sure it is affecting my overall performance. This is a loca profile. Thanks! |

| Tweak Minion | It contains each user's My Documents folder. You must have a lot of files in there. It also is your temporary internet files folder. Most web browsers do not have default limit on how much they will store or for how long. You can limit it to 30mb for 10 days, that works for me pretty well. Many programs use this area for storing application settings, and do not get removed from the system with an uninstall. Here's what you should do. Set your folder preferences to display hidden files and then just browse through and check out what it contains. |

| Rogue One | Also in there will be various temp directories, like %username%/Local Settings/Temp, and %username%/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files, which can get pretty big over time. |

| Junior Member | My My Documents fodler is over 9gb. Should I move all of that stuff out to the root? I keep everything in My Documents. If I move everything out to C that should reduce the size of my profile, right? Temp directory had less than a mb in it. Thanks |

| Tweak Minion | Why do you need to reduce the size of your profile? but yes, if you move everything out of your My Documents, it will reduce the size of your profile. |

| Rogue One | You can also move your My Documents folder elsewhere - right click the desktop icon, click "Move" and pick the new directory. It should copy all your files over automatically. |
