Anyone know what the current rating is for the usb port on my laptop? I tried googling around, but couldn't find anything specific only except the contacts can draw up to 1 amp.

I think other than that, is it limited to what the power supply can draw?

Isn't an Ampere actually a given measurement of the current draw?

I'm not superduper with electronics, but my understanding is that you have-
The volts which is the force behind the power, the Amps which is the power (the current.), and the Ohms which is the resistance, the given load/wire has on the current.
