i know there is hardware to stream cable television to computers but is there a piece of software i can install on a computer that has a tv tuner card, and have it stream from that over the wireless network to a laptop?

I found this on Amazon. I'm sure there are cheaper models, but it's a start,

im looking for something to broadcast it by software. so the tuner card in desktop is broadcasting the cable signal and i put a peice of software on my laptop to connect to the tv broadcasted by my pc

dude... i just noticed with orb that you can stream shit to your phone, that's fucking awesome! now if only Sprint would stop being an ass and put some fucking towers near their world headquarters. i live 10 blocks from it and i get shitty reception

yep, you can stream it to any internet enabled device. it is pretty sweet. i don't have orb installed at the moment (need to set it up back up) but i used to watch streaming movies on my phone that were stored on my hard drive at home. pretty good quality considering.

im retarded and have been storing my movies in .ISO files so to replace my copy i keep by my television is mount the .iso and write a new DVD...but i cant watch those on my phone

you can "rip" an ISO to mpeg (or any other video format). whatever software you use to rip should be able to have you select the ISO file rather than the physical DVD drive. so you aren't totally out of luck, just time consuming.
