I just noticed your sig. I'm famous.

But, have you tried Spybot? That's a good one.

i had to deal with one like that. it was a virus, had norton detect it, searched for it on nortons website, and manually deleted it.

not sure if its the same one but it said spyware found please click to download windows antispyware or something like that.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I ran into the same thing as you. It took installing another, more erradicatable bug to detect where the files were to wipe it out.I think I usedStopsign or some pain in the ass websight to get find it, the I manually deleted the files. And yes, mine did spread and interfered with windows alot.

here's an image of the scan in progress and what it's finding:

The scan is free, but for the part to "fix" what is discovered, they charge you through the ass.
This prog (stopsign) installs spyware components, but they are easily wiped out with adaware or spybot.

adaware/spybot is my combo... lately it seems spybot has been falling behind as the last time i used an up to date version of it on a friends computer it missed... assloads that adaware found on their computer.

If you know the files that need t obe deleted just pop in Knoppix, mount the drive, and delete. Five minute fix, tops.

I don't know why you guys still use spybot. It was great back in the day but it sucks now.

Use a free trial of spysweeper or spyware doctor. Then after scanning (scan all accounts!) use kapersky's online virus scanner.
