Does anyone know if it is possible to share a TV tuner card device with other machines on the network?

I want to install the application on the remote machine and then point the application somehow to the device on the machine w/ the card installed in it.

The drivers and application would have to include network support. And if they did, every computer that is using it would have to watch the same channel.

you were right about the 2 machines having to browse the same channel. I found a kickass tuner program that sets up a server on one of your boxes that you can access, and therefore watch tv, on the other boxes on your network.

Now I have my laptop right next to my main rig playing the TV coming from my main multimedia box!

Kickass stuff!

The name of the software is "Beyond TV" if anyone is interested.

Thats pretty cool actually. Can the program be setup to operate as a server in the background? I would like to have it running all the time on my rig and use it to watch tv on my laptop when out in the yard or wherever.

yeah..it seems to act as a server. It has a taskbar icon running on the machine acting as the server and keeps logs of everything. It even has a web admin interface.

If you watch tv on more than one box 2 the same time, while using the same tuner devide, it forces each box to view the same channel. So far though, I mostly like it for the flexibility, and it has a more Home theater center friendly GUI as well.

I'm pretty sure ati's software can do it for their cards.
