I have a Linksys WRT54G v3.1 with the latest firmware, configured to forward port 2234, used by SoulSeek. Whenever I close the application, I keep getting requests to that port from a bunch of people. I know this because I can see the entries in Kerio's log. Is this normal? If the answer is "no," what can I do to stop it? It also happens with other P2P programs, such as eMule. I tried switching to port triggering, but that didn't help.... Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Well if that's the port you are using to communicate with other computers and then you sunddenly turn it off, it's not like the computers will know your application is no longer responding and automatically stoping trying to access it.

Short answer is, yes it's normal.

That was an extremely logical answer. Thanks for making me feel stupid.

I have that problem with torrents. However, once it's been shut off after awhile, I notice network activity drops, so...I wouldn't worry too much about it.

How strange, I would have thought the torrent spec provided for a means to tell the swarm you are leaving.
