So we have a computers here with XP Home and mine is XP Pro, im woundering if there is a way that i could set up remote desktop so i can work on this computer from the upstairs one.

I make myself laugh.

if your using microsoft remote connection then it might have some trouble, use tightvnc and just type in lan ip

Yes with remote desktop and properly enabled.

i thought that remote desktop came only with Pro and it wouldn't work with home

i like dameware -- its an extra software install (only on the computer doing the connecting), and it'll install itself on whatever machine you want (as long as you have rights to the machine)... It has some neato features, like file transferring to and from the remote pc

Are you trying to control home or pro? If you are trying to control pro then you are fine with remote desktop client in the link I gave you.


If you want to do it the other way around then you will have to use net meeting (start-run-conf).
