| Oilfield Trash | Lately when Ive been downloading movies and such I am getting these files and they are saying they are corrupt. What are they and how do I extract them, must be something new. Last 4 things Ive downloaded have them. http://www.tweak3d.net/forums/imageh...0a14235304.jpg |

| Dont mess with old school | They are winrar files, you can either use winrar to extract them or click on .r0, or .rx (x being the highest number in the group). |

| Rogue One | Don't try to open the individual files directly. You usually only need to select the first file in the group, since it's a single large archive split over many files. Just find the first file in the group (usually with the .rar extension, or maybe .r00) and extract it like a normal WinRAR file. It isn't a new feature or anything, WinRAR and some other archivers have been able to do this for years. |

| Raptor Jesus | Get an .sfv checker, that'll tell you if the file is really corrupt or your computer is just being stupid. |

| Vagina Friendly Mayor | Also check for Par files. SOmetimes newsgroups have corrupt files and post PAR's to make up for the corrupt/broken files. |

| Lord Of Porn | they shouldnt be corrupt if you used bittorrent. theres really no way to fix them if they are corrupt but if you have any recovery files like .par2 or something that came with the download they can be repaired with quickpar. I know winrar has a repair tool but that never really works. ^^^ beaten with a stick |

| I am teh em0z LULZ | Assuming you already have WinRAR installed, the way I do it is right click the first file and select "extract here". It'll unpack the film then. All scene releases get archived like that now, and have been for as long as I can remember. |

| The corruption may just stem from someone forgetting to put one of the .rxx files in the distribution. I use Peazip, which has a nice Test feature. It handles RAR type files just fine, and the test can tell you where the corruption/missing file is at, in the archive. |

| Senior Member | Also, try reinstalling WinRAR. I had a similar issue a year ago, and that fixed it. |

| Yep, there should be: filename.rar filename.r00 filename.r01 ... filename.r30 ... filename.rXX, the last file. Also, this is in an old RAR format, since modern RAR partial files are of the name: filename.part001.rar filename.part002.rar etc... |
