I was changing the background image on the destop and accidentally piced an animated GIF instead of the JPG I was going for and even though its a background pic it looks pretty cool animated and all so I was thinking about keeping it up there but.....

Is this bad for the PC? does it mess with anything like the monitor or the memory usage or something like that? - Does it have ANY adverse effect on the PC?

LMAO, none at all. Its one image that is just repeated. To be technical, the computer puts the image into memory and then links to that point in memory every time the image is recalled in a different place, ie tiled output. Id find it quite distracting but whatever floats your boat. For a monitor, its better, what can hurt a monitor is static images for too long. Although its not much of an issue today, but thats why screensavers were invented and named.

I was tempted to try that at one point, then I got the
G-Force screensaver from Soundspectrum and I love it.(came with the platinum package) Keep us updated on the
usability factor.

its not bad actually - its a small gif and its a very dark colr and the background color behind it is black...so its easy on the eyes....trying to get my dig camera back so I can make a quick vid of it....just something to do......
