Ok I just got a new soundcard, it's the first after-market card I have ever owned so I have a question. I notice that when I go into the windows mixer and goto mic recording ~ Advanced options, It gives a little check box for "Front Mic". OK, Well It would freaking rock my world if I could just check this box when I wanted to use the front port and then uncheck it to go back to default. That would be awsome, But since I have never dealt with an aftermarket card, I have no idea where or how to plug the front jacks into this card. There are some "plugs" that are unused and I have no idea what they are for. I don't want to take this thing apart again just to investigate so I thought I'd come here for help. The connectors that I have comming from the front are the little single pin connectors, the black ones, if you know what I mean. Here is a picture of my sound card, any help would be great. Thanks.... |

i believe those connectors on the top are for CD/DVD drives, but i'm no pro on aftermarket sound cards either, the ports just looks familiar to me... |

ok, I do aprechiate your help because now I at least have eliminated those, but in doing so I think that I have located the correct pins.... Directly between the plugs you mentioned and the Pink mic input are the pins I think I need to use, Guess It's time to take it apart again and give it a go. Thanks man. |

I have that card, but I have no clue what the fuck you're talking about. Do you want to mute/unmute the mic? |

alright, someone who has the card!! No, See I have a mic input in the front of my case, as well as another mic input on the back where the AV710 is. I want the front mic to work with the AV710 when I click the checkbox for it. Then when The box is not checked I want the rear mic to work. ![]() I hope you can help me. I know where the pins are, they are just not labeled. On most MOBOs they are labled: "MIC PWR" "L_OUT" "R_OUT" "MIC IN"........yadda yadda. I need to know where to put the single pin connectors that come from the front of my case so that I can enable the front mic. These are the pins on the card, I just need to know which are which... ![]() |

Yeah, or you could just fiddle around with it until you get it. I don't have a front mic port, so I can't help you there. Let me dig out the manual though... |

lol, the manual is a piece of crap and is useless. All the manual tells me is how to install the drivers. That's it. I think I got it, kinda, but it's wierd. the front mic works now, but it is exactly the same as the back mic. meaning there is no switching between the two. They both work at the same time. This kinda bites for me, I want them to be switchable, Oh well, back to the drawing board. Still if you guys find out anything PLEASE PLEASE let me know. |
