traded in my pentax K10D for the new pentax K200D which is a k10 with new features in it, bought it in a kit with the grip, the kit lens and a telephoto. Amazon.com: Pentax K200D Digital SLR Camera with Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II Zoom + Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens + Pentax D-BG3 Battery Grip + 4GB SD Card + Case + Cameta Bonus Accessory Kit: Camera & Photo
ive been playing with alot of the new features like the black and white shots directly from the camera, no need for software to make good black and whites.

as well as many other features. the in body shake reduction works with Pentax's 24 million lens's that they have made in the last 60 years (or so they say). is a sample of its color images, its alot better at 3860x2??? somthing res, or 10.2 MP but these images shrinked down to photobucket's size which is 1024x768. very nice buy if anyone is looking for a top mid range DSLR camera. ill write a full review later once my internet is fixed and ive had more time to fool with the camera

more of a nikon man myself. decent purchase though.

your in camera image stabilizer will work with any lens, even the MF lenses (you just wont have any af fuction which can help in low light situations.

ok after a few days of playing with the settings i have found that the 6 new picture modes (BW, portrait, land scape, bright, natural and vibrant) are amazing to play with, the portrait mode makes any pictures of people alot sharper and makes skin look more realistic like if someone were wearing makeup. out of all the new modes on the dial (M for manual, Tv for shutter, Sv for aperture meaning that you set both the shutter and aperture on manual, you input the shutter speed and the camera calculates the aperture for Tv mode and Sv is the opposite and many more modes) i find the manual mode is the best and that the auto picture mode is quite sucky because it constantly thinks and doesn't shoot when i push on the button.
i find that when i tell the camera to take continuous shots it will take the first 4 with the 3 FPS like its supposed to but then the speed drops, it starts taking pictures about one every second sometimes there is a burst of pictures taken, only like one or two. i dont know if this is because my SD card isnt the best or if the camera came damaged (the shipping box and been ripped at the tape area and definitly beat up) because i didnt have the problem with my K10 but it was also a diffrent memory card.
when using that telephoto lens mentioned above the distant shots i sometimes take can be very blurry. pentax i think has perfected the shake reduction system on this camera. on my k10 the system would sometimes not stop all the blur when using a 140~420, on my k200 it stops almost any bluring lines when using a 140~600 (i use a 2x doubler).
the battery grip is a must have in my opinion. the shutter release button on the side makes portrait photos a hell of alot easier than wrapping your hand around the camera. also with the grip and the camera both taking AA batterys you dont have the problem of the K10 with having to use a custom rechargable battery, with AA you can be out and about and not have to worry about your battery dying and not having a backup.
the new improved kit lens (18~55 f3.5) is alot clearer, sharper and have less noise than the old version that came with the k10, it is a little less in weight but still the same in length and still has a 52mm ring for UV and color filters.
for the photo enthusiast or the amateur this is the perfect camera. the same power as the K10D but in a newer and more user friendly version. the Pentax K200D is the perfect camera
