I woke this morning to find my wife's PC dead, oh joy! Long story short, I had a spare AMD motherboard and am reinstalling Windows now, but the spare motherboard didn't have onboard video. I moved my daughters' video card to my wifes' PC, and since I have to buy new I figure I'll get something for my rig. What should I get? Requirements below:

AGP
Dual DVI outputs
Less than $150

I play 3D games a little, but seeing as how I'm currently using a Geforce 4 4200 anything is going to be an upgrade.

It really burns my ass that I have to buy another AGP card...

Yeah, it's funny you posted the XFX because I was looking at that on NewEgg just now. Seems like a no-brainer, I guess I'll order it. I'm just trying to decide for my uses if it's worth an extra 20 bucks for the 256-bit memory interface versus the 128-bit. For $128 I can get the exact same card with the slower memory interface.

And you need the memory, believe me.

i bougth that card a couple days ago, the card is loud i guess, but thats because my case is small, and the card is running very hot, if u dont have a big case with good airflow, dont get it.

My case is pretty big and cool, so it should fit in OK. Plus I actually bought this too:

The fan on my 4200 has been making some noise so I bought this for it, but I may use it on the 6800 if it runs hot.

I did that for my 6800gt and it dropped my on-load temps by 15-20 degrees!

I wish i could of used mine for my 7800GS, alas they don't make any aftermarket cooling for AGP 7800GS. So i sold it to my brother a long with my old 6800GT

dont think a zalman fits on my case.. was thinking of getting those vantec things, but their loud as hell, 50+ db @ max speed.

btw, msp how big was that pci fan, if you can, can you please take a picture, because the comments in newegg says its pretty big, and whats your temps with the 6800?

Still waiting for the 6800 and the slot cooler to arrive, I'll post pics / comments once it's installed.

Yeah, My stock gpu cooler was massive and the zalman doesn't take up as much room as it did. No matter what, the leadtech 6800gt takes up two slots.

The thing weighed a ton.

I dunno, since I'm not overclocking and rarely play in 3D I haven't been checking. I'll take a baseline before I install the 6800. I want to say the CPU temp runs in the up 40s to mid 50s.

Well, got / installed the XFX last night and it's pretty impressive. Going from a Geforce 4200 to a overclocked 6800 was quite a leap! Quake 4 at 1024x768 at maximum quality (without AA) runs great. Frankly I haven't had time to do any benchmarks. At idle the video card runs at 50 degrees Celsius though, it that normal? Seems a little high to me.
