Hi,
I recently got an old Inno3d TNT2 PCI 32MB card for a low-end net-surfing gig.
Problem is, I'm running XP on that piece of crap, and I can't find suitable forceware drivers for the video.
The newer releases, of couse, do not support the TNT2, but I tried as far back as 66.93 and the driver installation says that it cannot locate an Nvidia card present in the system.
I'm not sure whether it's because it's on a PCI slot, or this chipset is simply not supported.
So, do any of you know what are the latest XP Forceware drivers that DO support my state-of-the-art video card?

Back in the day, I had the hardest time getting my TNT2 m64 to be recognized by OS. I don't know if you're having XP related problems or the same problems I had 7 years ago. It's been so long that I don't even remember what I did to resolve the issue. I do know that I had it in my wife's computer when XP came out and it worked fine until I got her a 9800pro.

Until now, never!before in Earth history, has mass extinction involved a choice.

hudsmack's

Gamercard

According to Nvidia, those drivers should work with your card. I would suggest emailing them for some support.

Do you have a BIOS setting for PCI/AGP video? Have you totally gotten rid of all
previous vid drivers?

First of all, thank you for your kind replies.
Now, I'll give you a bit of a background info
I bought this Fujitsu-Siemens Scenic eD (PIII 866Mhz, 320 SDRAM, 20GB HDD) for $50, in the hope of finally having internet access in my kitchen.
I like to check my email and post not-so-intelligent comments on forums while having my breakfast, and my girlfiend noted (in a not-so-friendly remark) that there was already too much cereal in the keyboard of my bedroom pc.
The mobo- Socket 370, doesn't have an AGP slot, and has an Intel Integrated 82810 video. Since I bought a PixelView TV tuner ($10) for my kitchen multimedia center , I figured I needed a slight boost to my video in order to watch tv, that corresponds even slightly with the audio
So, I went with the Riva (another $10 ) and here comes the problem.
I couldn't get it running under 98, so I installed XP, and it finally saw the video. But when I disabled the onboard video, the riva stays inactive until XP boots. In other words, there is a black screen until the welcome sign shows I'm pretty sure it's because this is the time XP "sees" the PCI devices and "understands' the Riva is the only video card in the system, but if I want to see stuff before OS loads (memtest, BIOS, Fujitsu-Siemens logo ), I have to remove the mobo battery, and reset it to default (intel integrated video enabled), and switch the CRT cable. But if I leave it enabled, XP detects a problem with the Riva (device is not working properly) and I can's use it.
So now I'm gonna try 44.03 forceware and maybe 2x.xx detonators, to see what happens.
Thanks for listening

Edit:
44.03 worked perfectly
I even used CoolBits and overclocked the old SOB a little bit
