I just did a fresh re-install of Win XP SP2. Updated all of my drivers, virus-scan etc. Downloaded TweakUI to change a few settings, changed a few other settings manually (recycle bin is pointless).

Now nothing is showing up in my taskbar. I've got Steam, my Virus-Scan (McAfee), Azureus, and nVidia Sound software running, but none of them have icons in the taskbar.

I went back through TweakUI and didn't find any settings relating to the Taskbar. I did install TweakXP's tweak utility, and changed a few settings in there before un-installing it, but I don't remember anything in there regarding the Taskbar or anything even remotely similar to it.

Help?

Check this registry entry: hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\policies\explorer\notrayitemstodisplay

if it's set to 1, change it to 0.
