i have 3 computers networked together on a DI-604 router. one day they were working fine, and i could access all the shared files on each computer.

the next day, i try to play some music, and i cant connect to my fucking fileserver, but i can connect to my dads computer.

i tried readding a connection, doing the network wizard, which gives me an error saying it cant complete it on both my computer and the fileserver, but works just fine on my dads. i also tried a new workgroup, which didnt work.

so, my dad cant connect to my computer, or the fileserver
i can connect to my dad, but not the fileserver
and the fileserver can connect to my dad but not me.

i also reset the router multiple times, and set the settings to default, so i dont think its that.

any ideas on what the fuck could have happend?

Welcome to Windows networking. The fact of the matter is, no matter what you do it just won't work sometimes. On my home network I set all the computers up with IIS so when I need to transfer something I just open an FTP client. Guaranteed to work.

I'm guessing you already tried rebooting the fileserver and then rebooting the client machines?

Have you checked any of the system logs?

grAteWh1te's

Gamercard

I hate networks. I go to replace a hard wire with a wireless one the other day, "Oh its recognizing the network but not sending anything. Maybe i can just restart the router."

All 3 internet connections go down the the router mysteriously needs to be completely re-set up. Ugh.
