so a few eeks ago my dad's tahoe got broken into, and the bastards stole my 3g nano. So now I'm in the market for a new mp3 player.

I think this time I'd like to get a large capactiy player,as I am really tired of switching out music. My music folder right now is about 100gb, with maybe 10gb as movies.

I am really considering the Zune 120gb. It has more features than the iPod video, same capacity, and it costs less. plus zune has "zuneoriginals" so I can get a cool lazer etching on the back for an extra 10 dollars.

at the same time though, iPod is familiar to me, and I already have iTunes set up with my library and everything (not like setting up on Zune wll be that big of a hassle)

anyway, what's yall's take? any pros/cons I should be aware of? any other suggestions?

Well my son seems pretty happy with his Xen X-Fi. It's only 32MB though.

do you really need 100GB with you at all times? It would certainly be cool to have that much space but I only carry about 2GB of music with me on my pda phone and it's been fine for me.

anywho, i've heard good things about the Zune. I haven't personally used one though. obviously ipods are nice. I'm trying to think of others that have that high of capacity. I believe Archos makes a 120GB model.

Personnaly, I'd go with a Ipod touch.

And if I decided not to choose Apple, I'd go with a Samsung model. I tested them and they work really well.

I really want something high capactiy. When I had my 8gb nano, I could only put 1 movie on there, and when I did, I had to delete albums. It's just a pain in the ass switching music out on these things.

and then when you are in the car thinking, "man I wish I could listen to some led zepplin" but you didn't put it on your ipod, it sucks.

the x-fi looks neat, and had a lot of features, but I hope you meant 32gb instead of mb. Isn't the price kind of high for the amount of storage? most of my stuff is lossless, can you hear a difference on the x-fi in lossless format compared to other players?

Yeah, I thought about getting another ipod, but do I really need more than 2GB on the go? I just use my phone, does the job handily.

The answer is yes, yes I do need a lot of space.

I had an 8 gig ipod, and it wasn't nearly enough, I had to switch out albums all the time and I don't want to deal with that anymore. I want all of my music on demand.

also, my phone doesn't play mp3's. which is fine with me, a phone is a phone, and an mp3 player is an mp3 player.
