I was using a pair of Plantronics .Audio 90's and I loved them, but last night they broke (sound is just gone. Another set of headphones works fine.)

So I'm looking for another pair of headphones. I really liked the .Audio 90's but Plantronics has discontinued them, and I don't know if I'd like the new headphone styles (square cushions, instead of round).

It needs good sound quality, and has to have a mic attached. Price range is no more than about $55 including shipping.

Any suggestions? I was kind of looking at the .Audio 370's, but again I don't know if I'd like the new ear cushion design.

*EDIT* After doing a bit of searching, I found this: Icemat Siberia Headset - Icemat Reviews of it say it's a great headset and the mic is good. Any experience with them?

In that price range, you'll want some Sennheisers.

I'm sure you could repair your current ones, a broken wire is all that could really be wrong with it. Get a soldering iron savvy friend to take a look at the.

HeadRoom - Right Between Your Ears

I searched there and found my wireless headphones, they were great for school but now I never use them.

I make myself laugh.

It's not worth it to fix headphones unless you are talking about very expensive headphones. More often than not you will cook the driver. Headphones are made with precision soldering tools, not by hand.

The price range I'm shooting for is there because I don't have any extra money. Every penny I get goes to paying bills and catching up on doctor bills (my wife didn't let me know we were in trouble, she hid all of the late bills from me. Thanks alot...) I'm an avid gamer, so I need something quick.

I do need a mic for the headphones, and the only sennheisers I saw on newegg were PC166's or something like that. The reviews said that the sound quality was fair, and the mic was good, but all of the reviews of the icemat siberia's said the sound quality was great, and the mic was fair.

I think I'm just gonna order those, but if I ever need a set of headphones for serious audiophile stuff I'll be looking at some nicer Sennheiser or Sony stuff.

Thanks for your guys' suggestions.

Since when did 5 minutes work to save some $30 cans become not worth it? As long as you have an idea what you are doing and sink the heat away, you won't ruin anything.

I guess it's all relative, not worth it to me.

Well, they're broken either way, it's not like you could make it worse.

if youre real critical about sound, like i am when it comes to headphones.

you need to sign up at head-fi
lurk or ask questions pertaining to the type of music you listen to, budget, open or closed cans, and whether or not you'll be using a headphone amp
