 Party? Where? | Today, first time in two years, I cleaned up my machine. It was terrible. Athlon 2400, with 768megs of ram, tired 40gig maxtor and a radeon 9800. Lets start off with this. I have not cleaned out any files that I downloaded since a year. I have not defragged in two, and I have not done a virus scan in two either. So today I start with adware removal. It took about 2 hours to scan my 140000 files, when it was done it found a shitload and I removed them in safemode. Ran Spybot for good measure, it found a few that adaware had not removed, and I got rid of that shit too. Went to an online virus scanner and did a scan, found 8 viruses and multiple infections, all files cleaned. While in safemode I did a defrag that just finished, rebooted and... I feel like I have a brand new computer again. This thing is fast again, loading times are good, its like a totally different machine. I had forgotten how important it is to keep the system clean! Now I gotta clean out the inside, as multiple fans are 'whining and grinding' im gonna need alot of pc duster and put er outside. yea, thats what I did tonight... lame. SO now even lamer, im going to casually go and get high. thanks for listening. | |
