Should I even study for and acquire a MCSE if what I really should end up getting in the long run is a MCITP: Enterprise Administrator?

Thats a good question, I was thinking that myself, its hard to tell b/c there was a time line, I found it here Windows XP: Going, going ... gone?
By the begining of next year in 2009 microsoft will stop selling xp and by 2009 there will be not much support for it anyways :/

XP timeline:
June 30, 2008
PC manufacturers stop selling computers with XP installed.

Jan. 31, 2009

Microsoft stops selling XP altogether.

April 14, 2009

Mainstream support (free live support and warranty support) ends. Free maintenance is limited to security fixes.

April 8, 2014

All support for XP ends.

I don't see corporations (many, at least) moving away from XP/2000 for a few more years.

Personally I wouldn't unless you're looking for a job. If you're not and your company is going to upgrade to 2k8 I'd suggest getting a copy of 2k8, study and pass those tests. The good news is that the total amount of tests has declined so if you went 2k3 first, you'd need one more for the MCSA equiv and two for the MCSE equiv.

Just depends on how much time you have, your goals, interests, job.
