What would you total the hours of labour at (not including research time)? And the cost of the components?

It's hard to calculate the time spent on this thing because I only get to work on it on my days off and usually one of my days off is dedicated to my wife. Total man hours probably are around 150 (a good chunk of that is from painting and finishing which I will be redoing again).

I've been researching it for a couple of years with the last year involving serious reading.

As far as the cost goes, probably around $2000. I good chunk of that was the tv ($400).

Damn that's a lot of money. What else did everything else cost? I didn't know wood and paint would cost so much.

Yes because all you need to build a MAME Cab is a TV, some logs and some paint.

lol

I had the wood already which is what prompted this project really (I haven't been able to park in my garage because I had four sheets of mdf on the floor).

Another $700 came from arcade parts (I could have gone much cheaper but I went all out). The rest came in the form of tools and odds and ends (paint, paint tools, etc).

The pc will be free or at the very least be the cheapest thing in the cab.
